Comment:
A pathetic waste of time. He began a Graduate course with strict guidelines of how we wanted the class to comment on the forum board then went bonkers when someone spoke their mind (politely at that) on said forum by saying he "expected more of Graduate students". Petty, over-sensitive and readily admits that he's "authoritarian". Just avoid him.

Write four papers throughout the class. I felt the textbook was kind of pointless. I personally didn't like his style of teaching but class wasn't unbearable. Peer edits really help with the papers.

If you can not get an A in this class you do not deserve to be in college, or at least to be taking an English class at this high a level. He is VERY easy on your work and very helpful. I wrote my papers and edited none, did my portfolio and received an A. Honestly I don't know how you would do poorly if you had at least 5th grade writing skills.

Tony is very friendly and easy to get along with. It's a heavy writing workload, but spread out very well. I hated the book, and had a few difficulties picking topics. But if you have problems, he will help. There is a lot of peer review, research, and writing (duhhh). You can also write in the first person perspective. He prefers that sometimes.

Unclear, unhelpful. All reading material had to be printed online, wasting hundreds of sheets of paper, and probably gallons of ink. VERY boring. Avoid his theory class, I hear his expository writing class sucks too.

His writing classes are really sociology classes. Writing technique is rarely discussed. Instead uses class to talk about his own pet research project: The Working Poor. The web publishing tutorial only taught us how to use the UNCC webspace, not how to publish in the real online world. Not at all what you'd expected from the course description.

This class is an upper level course so if you come into it expecting an easy A, think again. If you want easy, sign up for a lower level class... remember...you're in college now! He is a good professor and I never saw him "lose his temper" as someone commented nor did he treat females any differently than males. No weekly reports; only summaries.

Complete bullcrap. Expository Writing turned into Social Problems. What the fack? This also became Technical Writing. He said we'd work on a magazine project, that never happened. He's full of it. Avoid his writing courses unless you want to read/talk about the "Working Poor".

A good professor and likeable guy. He will push you, though. If you hate writing essays, avoid. Otherwise, he will improve your skills and understanding of formal writing quite a bit.

This was actually the first english class that I am not getting sick of. There is a lot to read, and a few looong papers to write, but there is also a lot of freedom with what you can write about. If you're confused, just let him know.

This prof is nice until you start thinking on your own. If you're junior or above,I recommend against taking him. He loses sight of objectives, misstates facts, forgets what has been agreed upon. Instructions are NOT CLEAR. He does not like answering ques

Nice guy, extremely dedicated to his job, but he is very unclear with assignmentsand you will have no idea what is pulling off most of the time! He expects everyone to be very intelligent and read his mind on expectations. I would not take him again
