Dr. Porter is great. BIO 101 (Biodiversity) is hard, but Dr. Porter made it possible and gives great exam reviews, but you must request them! They will save your life. She gives great feedback and is very approachable. Her labs are really great as well. Take her and study hard!

Comment:

I transferred from Salem after my first year, but Traci was one of my favorite professors. She is also one of the few professors who actually challenge you and care about your learning experience. Biodiversity was tough, but worth it.

Her biodiversity class is not easy and requires a LOT of studying and memorization. At least a quarter of the class will drop and even switch majors. She is willing to help if you ask. She doesn't teach material you can cram before the exam, you actually have to know it. She teaches straight out of the book so if you miss class, you can just read.

Dr. Porter is absolutely phenomenal! You would take her biodiversity class your first year if you major in biology or biochemistry. Simply put: Biodiversity is a tough subject but Dr. Porter makes it bearable. She gets excited about science at 8:30 in the morning and gets you excited about it too! She goes WAY out of her way to help her students.

From my experience with her, and many others agree, she was very hateful last semester. Mockery and insults are inappropriate ways to respond to a student or anyone for that matter. This behavior made it hard to talk with her or ask for help. Also, she shouldn't take her personal problems out on students.

SHE'S A JOY! She is so funny in a airhead kind of way but she is so smart. I'll never forget the rash she got on her face from enjoying the velvety smooth leaves of the ginkgo tree. Priceless. She loves biology and it shows. I saw her of campus once. She stopped at a plant and started looking it over. I smiled and thought, that's Dr. Porter.

She is just fantastic! I am not a science major, but I wish I were so I could take her classes. She's fun, energetic, and her excitement is contagious. I learned so much from her and would take another class if I could. I really admire her. Also--why doesn't she have more "hot" points? She's totally good looking.

Dr. Porter is a wonderful lady and is very friendly and helpful. Her labs, however, are endless. They require many hours of studying and returning to the lab outside of class. Very challenging.
