His tests are easy, but he doesn't explain concepts that clearly and he isn't to willing to explain in detail. Though you'll get a good grade out of this class, if you want to be taught the subject material rather than teaching yourself, take the class with someone else.

The course is fairly straightforward. As long as you go to class, you dont need to read the book. Really nice guy. Definitely go see him for help on the problem sets. They are pretty hard and are worth 25% of your grade and there are only 3 and each one is worth 7 pts. But hes always willing to help

This is by far the best class I have ever had. Professor Davig is interesting, helpful, and obviously has a great passion for economics. I would highly recommend this class - especially if you are thinking about econ as a future profession. Very helpful

Attending class and getting help on homework is really all you need to do to get a good grade. Very nice guy and helpful. Occasionally unclear. I'd recommend him.

The class wasn't too hard.. but then he'll surprise you on the tests. he doesn't curve either. last spring semester the class average was a 65.. but he still didn't curve. I wouldn't recommend him

Very smart, very likeable, but a bit distanced from the ability to teach basic principles in the lower level courses. Don't miss class, as he uses a lot of models that aren't in the book. Know them(!), and do the practice probs in the book & you'll do ok.

Very confusing class. Covers material very quickly and doesn't curve much if at all. Problem Sets are confusing and when asking for help he often confuses himself, therefore confusing the student more. I'd advise taking a different section.

He has very clear notes, and appeals to both visual and oratory learning styles. He writes everything down and lets you print out the overheads that he's going to show in class for the next week.

I think he's a great professor, just needs to work on his clarity a bit. His tests are fair, it's all over stuff that he goes over in class, but still sometimes difficult

Very current and not dry. Good speaker. Uses only overheads that he writes as you take notes, but shares his lecture materials online. A brand-new father, his office hours are unpredictable but he is very willing to make appointments. DOES know his stuff!

I hate econ to begin with, but I was not impressed with these boring classes. Lots of graphs, knows what he's talking about, but can't communicate it clearly enough. He's a nice guy, very proud of his one econ joke

Could not remember how to do basic graphs. Constantly had to look up answers. His office hours were not helpful at all. His exams were unfair and hard. Not recommended to anyone who would like a professor who knows how to teach.

This guy is terrible at teaching. I don't know how he possibly got a Ph.D. He doesn't know the fundamentals of Macroeconomics and as someone already mentioned, he had to look in the book several times to check to his answers which were often times wrong

doesn't know what he's teaching - had to refer to the textbook during lectures to figure out how to solve a problem. Problem sets are difficult (there's only 3 though) and class is incredibly boring.
