BLEH! Everytime I'm in this class I just want to stab myself with my pen. She often spends half the class discussing things that have nothing to do with anything and her comments on your papers are vague and unhelpful. Waaay to much like highschool. She treats you like you're an idiot and makes you read aloud in class.

I'm finishing the class right now and I've really enjoyed it. She makes what we're reading so interesting. She also really values people's opinions. There's a lot of reading, but you get to choose what response papers you want to do. Oh, and she is pretty forgiving about "forgetting " to bring a due assignment. She's really a great teacher.

There's a lot of work, but you can really learn a lot. She's old and kind of boring, but will work with you if you get a little behind. I made an A in both classes and felt like I really got a lot out of each class.

Comment:

Not a very good teacher. You practice a lot of writing, which is good, but there is a idiomatic and language barrier with this professor. In this class I wrote a paper that described a local music scene as "incestuous" and she asked me if I really thought that was an appropriate use of the word. She asked me if I knew what it meant and asked why I used it. It had a negative impact on my writing as I began tailoring it in consideration of what she may or may not "get."
