Comment:

I took her class in Spring 2009 before transferring. She was by far one of the best professors I have ever had, ranking above even my graduate level profs. She's being let go due to budget cuts and that compelled me to make this review. Not only is she brilliant, she is able to bring out her student's potential. Take her while you can and work hard

Vaishali is hands down the best professor that I have ever had. She was laid off due to budget cuts, but changed my life. I will never forget her. She is a nationally published economist and a contemplative buddhist, concerned with "the economics of happiness" yet possessing an ability to compute calculus in her head. Fantastic. -

Vaishali is a great person and an excellent professor, however, if you don't understand one thing, you will fail at the class. She is very fast paced and doesnt wait for anything. She has you get in touch with the TA if you need help, not her. However, she definitely knows what she is talking about.

Vaishali is a wonderful professor and does a great job keeping the entire class engaged during lectures. Like most of these comments have said, be prepared to both work and learn A LOT.. And don't sleep or zone out in class! She will call on everyone randomly to answer questions.

Econ of Food. Prof. is very knowledgeable she makes the class very fun and interesting. You will work but the effort pays off. Lots of reading & written analysis but also some field trips. You will know the material well when you are done. She does not mess around. Great teacher and class.

Professor Mamgain is amazing. She's very difficult and expects a lot from her students but if you're interested in any economics class, then be sure to get her because you'll actually learn something. Anyone giving this woman a bad review was just looking for an easy A instead of actually trying.

I absolutely loved Vaishali's Intro to Microeconomics class. Her class actually helped me decided to major in economics and I learned a ton in her class. Though she is a very difficult grader, if she knows you put a lot of work into the class, she'll weigh your grade accordingly. I thought I was going to get a D in the class and ended up with a C+.

Took Prof. Mamgain for intermediate Micro. Class moved fast, lots of reading and she will call you out often. Tests and quizzes ranged from easy to moderately difficult... the hardest part was just keeping up with the reading which is essential. That said, take her if you can, she is one of the best professor's I've had for any course. Don't slack!
