He can be somewhat hard to understand at times but he is a really great guy. He actually cares about the subject matter, and is not just out to get his ten year. He has an awesome resume' too. This class doesnt require attendance, but there are in class quizzes which you need to be there for. When you get bored, surf the net, he doesnt care.

everyone makes him sound really easy but this is one of the hardest classes i have taken. he doesnt explain the math on the tests which makes them extremely hard, his accent is hard to understand, and his lectures are very boring. the class is like astrophysics

This class really was not that bad. My problem was that I don't like science. What bothered me about this class is that in the final there were a lot of things that had not been covered on the study guide he had referred us to. It was an ok class. And yeah, don't leave early.

This class is the worst class I have taken. Hagopian has a very thick accent that makes it difficult to understand what he is saying, he doesn't teach the math that is on the tests, and his lectures could put you to sleep. I think he has been teaching too long and forgot how to explain things efficiently to people who aren't experts in the field.

I didn't even buy the book... and I took the HONORS section. Got an A. If you can understand an accent, it's easy to listen to him. If you do the study guide, you'll do fine. Just don't ever leave early!!

Has an awful accent that gets worse when amplified by a microphone. Completely undiscernable. Puts calculation problems on tests that arent really covered in class. Lectures on alot of material that has no impact on the class. Take your chances with another prof.

Could hardly understand a word he said, even while sitting in the front row. Made class boring and uninteresting, though my AST lab made up for it (different teacher). I got a D on the final and C's on the three (non-cumulative) exams, but ended up with a B in the class. At least he curves?

The professor is not as easy as other posts tend to indicate but he is still the easiest prof of the ast teachers. He is a great professor and his lectures are interesting but he doesn't cover the math that he puts on the tests. Just attending class gets you a B. Work your butt off and you get an A.

Hagopian is definitely a really cool teacher. His accent often enough presents a problem..but during the interesting parts (or stories unrelated) he's understandable. He's a funny guy and really cares about everyone in the class...only lecture teacher to get really angry at people who left early.

Very smart and nice! He always brought in fun activities to engage the class and he told interesting stories about space. He took the class on fun field trips too, the only college class i can think of with that. Has an accent, but still comprehensible

Comment:

Hagopian is a terrific professor. He's truly interested in what he's doing, and will stay after class to discuss ideas with students and tell them about his research projects. He even organized outside field trips on good nights to use the telescope.
