Comment:

Used rude and condescending tones. He would ask questions about history (to preface what we were going to read) and act like we were all dumb when we didn't have the answers even though this is an ENGLISH class not a history class. His standards are higher than other English professors. Got a 3.7 after retaking the course with a different prof.

I took his Literary approaches to the Bible class in 2011. I would put in about 1 1/2 hours of study right before going to class and ended up with a 4.0. The class is probably not the best class for people really into religion as the view you get when you read the bible for its literary propose is different then when you do it for a religious one.

Fantastic teacher. Gave us daily quizzes on the previous night's reading. I learned many new words during this course and my writing greatly improved. He was kind of a hard ass but was a fantastic teacher. Thanks Vic

I took Vic for American Literature. Upon reading others' comments on here I didn't know what to expect, but it proved to me that someone's opinion of a professor is truly relative. I enjoyed his class immensely. Discussion was accommodating and he encouraged a high level of engagement. If you're a slacker looking for an easy 4.0 - look elsewhere.

Very hard grader but does let you revise for higher grade. Is willing to help IF you are willing to try, attend class, and do the homework. My writing improved during this class. He treats students as adults--running start people be aware! He tends to dress like a cowboy--ha--a joke Mr. Aquino (though he does.) Good teacher, maybe even great.

Some teachers give you a good grade regardless of how much effort you put into classes. Obviously he is not the one of them; however, you will learn a lot of things from his class which you need to succeed in college if you work hard. He is one of the best teachers I know. People who complain about teachers here are often slackers. FYI I got 3.5

He is so awesome, I loved this teacher, I have taken him for eng 101 and now am in the american lit class eng 246. He is easy, straigtforward, and as long as you come to class, DO YOUR HOMEWORK THAT HE ASSIGNS, then your going to be fine. I got 4.0. He works with his students, gives extra credit, he is funny, nice.. and also fun activitys in class

I dont know why people blast him, he's a great teacher and works with you if you have problems , you get 2 chances to redo your compositions and he piratically tells you how to fix it, a word of warning though, DO NOT SLACK OFF IN HIS CLASS , POINTS ARE EVERYTHING 20 POINT CAN BE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A 1.9 AND A 3.5 ..... that is all

Great teacher! Do all the assignments and take advantage of rewrite opportunities and you should do well. Mostly paragraph writing and only a few full length papers. Very energetic, even at 7am!

This man has no idea what is appropriate to say around people at all. He verbally attacks you if you argue with his 'perfect' knowledge of the bible. and yells constantly about the smallest things. All in all he is a horrible teacher and he needs to know how to act around people.

He's funny sometimes, but he links everything to the bible when it had nothing to do with what we were discussing. He was not clear at at all and requires major participation. Although I ended up with a 3.6, I would not take a class with him again.

Gives alot of homework and is VERY anal about grading. Think twice before turning in your assignments because he WILL find something wrong with it and he WILL mark you down for it.
