Comment:
Professor is horrible, his lectures are confusing & hard to understand especially if this is your first economics class. He is HUGE on attendance so go to class everyday. He uses the book & uses the questions out of the book for the exam questions. I would recommend getting the book to study from If you get him switch out it's in your best interest

Lectures are very confusing and won't be much help to the tests. Occasionally will spend class time teaching you Chinese. Tests are the same questions as in the textbook, even if you fail the tests you'll pass with an A or B. Would not recommend if you're an econ major

Talk to Dr. Tonn both in class and after. It will improve your grade tremendously and you will learn more than you do during his lectures.

He is a very smart man with two PhDs. However some of the course material for his intermediate Microeconomics course requires you to know advanced calculus, so take math. If you really want to understand his course and get more than just an A then I suggest you read the text book. He teaches the course the way a graduate professor would, so read.

Every class is a boring lecture, doesn't really matter if you pay attention because the tests are the study guides (which he puts in the library). If you sit in the front row, you'll be his favorite.

As long as you show up, you can't fail. I bombed every single exam of his, but went to class every single day, and got called on once in the semester. Passed with a B-. Don't buy the book, buy the study guide on Amazon!

This class was a joke. My advice: don't buy the book but show up for each class. I bought the book, never looked at it and then ended up with an A in the class. He does take attendance though which matters in the grade. The study guides are the EXACT same as the tests as well. Easy A class, worth the time to bump up the GPA.

Easy A, but the most boring class I've ever experienced in my life. Everything he says is confusing and makes little sense. At one point, instead of teaching us what we needed to know, he spent several weeks teaching us how to write Chinese. As long as you memorize the study guide you'll pass the tests. He does take attendance every class though.

Impossible to understand. Just go to class everyday and sit on your laptop. He doesn't care. Don't buy the book, just get the study guide. Tests come directly from the study guide (which he also puts in the library for students to check out) Only had 2 tests and no homework. Just show up and you get an A

He is a VERY easy professor! But, his classes could not get anymore boring! Everyone is either on their phone or computer the entire class. If you study the study guide for a test, you are guaranteed to do well! Good class to take if you are looking for an easy A.

He is a really good teacher, If you ask him about China you will get a wealth of information. Not really helpful with the U.S. Economy, but really helpful with China and other Asian Economies. He is really intelligent though quite quiet, so a few students try to take advantage of him. His class was different, but I was glad that I took it.

Nice Teacher: A lot of the students didn't feel like doing the work and took advantage of Dr. Tonn's easygoing manner. He's very intelligent and helpful. When I had questions I was able to meet with him in his office and he helped me alot. He is clear about assignments and what the tests will be like. If you pay attention, you'll understand him.

THIS CLASS IS A HUGE JOKE! If you want an easy A for a core, this class is for you. I bring my computer and do other homework in class, and he doesn't care, as long as you show up. Unfortunately i took his class at 8 so it was hard to get up for. Just nod your head when he sees you and laugh at the "jokes" he tells.

Good class for catching up on other work while boosting your GPA. He doesnt care what you do as long as you show up, he is anal about attendance. If you see him outside of class he'll talk to you, just smile and pretend like you understand him.

Totally boring and useless but hes a nice guy. His tests are all from the study guide. His accent is hard to understand, but hes kind and makes an effort to get to know everyone in the class. He's one of my only professors that actually knew my name, let alone in the first couple of weeks.

Should be an easy A, but the class is completely useless. He lets you bring your laptop to class and listen to your i-pod as long as you can still lstien to his lectures. The class was a waste of my time and I learned nothing from it. All the test questions come from the study guide!!They are all multiple choice except the final has some essays.

Not a difficult professor but his classes are useless. I haven't learned anything from him. His tests are pathetic - just memorizing the study guide gets you an A. Econ class with him was a waste of money.

the easiest class i have ever taken. his tests in intermediate macro and micro are only worth 3% of your total grade. two tests and midterm total 10% of grade. the paper is worth the most but he honestly doesn't read it. easy A or B. his class is quiete entertaining. he loves china and his theory. his catch line is, "do you see my point"
