Worst professor I've ever had. He doesn't actually teach the material on tests and quizzes but expects you to learn it somehow. Very frequently skips over examples that would be useful and says to do it on your own. He also doesn't allow the math learning center to help you on assignments. FIND ANOTHER PROFESSOR

first off: bad accent. He is the worst teacher I have ever had. He doesn't explain a lot of the major parts of the class, and often times(a lot actually) he messed up problems while doing them HIMSELF. He doesn't answer questions we ask, and pretty much everyone I talk to in the class is struggling. AVOID THIS GUY AT ALL COSTS.

I am currently taking this class and it is a nightmare. His accent is hard to understand and he doesn't explain most problems well. The material is kind of hard but his poor explanations for each problem makes the class impossible. I have taken harder classes before but do well with a good professor, and I advise that you find a different one.

All of his notes are on carmen and it was more than possible to keep up with the notes, homework, and in-class problems (tophat) during class. Make sure you do the practice exams!! They are nearly identical to the actual exams. Also, he typically gave around 10 extra points on the tests so that was nice.

Between you and me, I thought he was alright at first, but he's honestly no help and his lectures make no sense at times and he cant even explain why it happens the way it happens. To him it just works... cant explain jack. Makes things harder than it really is and confuses hella out of everyone. Id take the other white guy 1010 times before rao

Rao's ok but his lectures are boring, and he often digresses after trying to explain a mathematical thoery that isn't really relevant to understanding the concept. But if you attend class, put in the time to study and do your homework an A is not unobtainable. Wouldn't take again though

He is a very great professor! I had him for math 1130 and then 1131. As long as you do the work that is expected you will have no problem understanding him . He is really good when it comes to the lectures. He hands out packets in which you can follow along and take notes. Miss class ? No problem ! lectures and assignments are always posted online.

Impossible to understand. I was lucky that I knew most of the material he was teaching from high school so I just used his power points on Carmen as a refresher. Test aren't too difficult, and pretty easy to get a decent grade if you keep up on the homework. Final was horrible.

Take this professor! The entire class is set up for you to succeed. Homework is staggered to help you learn and retain. Graded work is easy if you pay attention. Low scores are dropped. Excellent notes are PROVIDED. He tells you what to expect on the tests. Partial credit is always given. He actually cares, and wants to help.

He was very hard to understand because of his accent. He taught things that didn't pertain to the materials we were going over and graded us on them . I would not have had such a problem with him if he didn't do that. However, he did allow several bonus assignments to make up for half the class failing the first exam.

Dr. Rao is overall a very kindhearted guy! His class is a bit boring.. and he is hard to understand due to his accent, but he really is a great professor overall. I didn't take a math my senior year of high school so I was SO behind, but if you go to his Office Hours he will help you and even sometimes throw a few extra points your way.
