Dr. Holder is a very interesting man; his travel stories are great! However, his teaching style is hard to deal with. He tells stories during every class, and then he gives us a test, and WHAM!! it is nothing we ever studied at all! Do the readings; you learn nothing for the hard tests in class.

he taught a class at winona...horrible teacher. tests are SOOO hard. he doesn't talk about anthing relavent during class and then tests you on stuff that isn't anywhere to be found. UGGG NEVER take his class!!!!!

This is one of the worst classes I've ever had. Holder cannot teach and does not teach. The tests are ridiculous because there's a whole semester's worth of material on each little test. For a gen ed course it's a joke....horrible!

Virgil cannot lecture for the life of him... he goes on tangents and lacks the ability to maintain relevance. He gives way too much material to study for his tests but if you learn how to study then they aren't that bad.
