Comment:
For me, Walter was first and foremost and excellent lecturer (I don't understand how but he pretty much yells for the entire lecture). Also, his system for notes is excellent, he covers essential theory stuff and one or two examples in-class, and posts the nitty-gritty details and extra examples in complete notes online. His jokes are neigh bad :)

I don't know why he is rated so high here but he totally screwed up this semester. We were three classes behind all the other 209 classes and I had to attend another prof's lectures. He teaches pretty well though

Good prof, made a really hard course easy by using his own notes. The textbook was so confusing. The midterm and final are extremely difficult but usually the average is low so if you know the basic concepts, you will be fine

He is very overrated and has a habit of overcomplicating topics. I used the textbook the whole semester, skipped class and ended up with an A. However, his midterm and final reviews should not be missed. TEXTBOOK IS A MUST. Midterm and Final are difficult. Make sure you know your stuff going in.

Allegretto was amazing!! He turned all the difficult math problems into something easier that we could understand.. like potatoes and bugs walking on plates.. Definitely my favorite professor second year.

Alright prof, overcomplicates things so badly. He's pretty rude when answering peoples' questions. Examples are hard to follow.

Superb prof. Go to his lectures even if you're not registered in them. Amazingly, he knows how to slow things down and make concepts immediately understandable. His enthusiasm is unparalleled. Simply the best teacher I've ever had. Class avg a high 3.1! Warning: Make sure to still do sufficient practice on your own, or you may lose an easy A+/A.

Every semester when there is the free math reviews, 65% of the students leave when this man finishes his half of the review. Shows how good he is.

While Walter is a good prof, he is a bit over-rated in my opinion. He seemed to make the material seem intimidating when in reality it was fairly easy. His notes could be a bit more organized as well. Every class he drinks a Tim Horton's Ice Cap.

Great prof, probably the best at explaining the concepts, very funny, and provides lots of constructive feedback. The only drawback is that his notes can be a little scattered from time to time. I switched to Tokarsky's lecture at the midterm for his more organized notes - but that's not to say that Allegretto isn't a great option. Final sucked.

Seriously, this guy is awesome. He makes mathematical concepts crystal clear and easy to remember because of his clever, but arguably random, analogies. He delivers the material in a very passionate and even funny way. Defenitely keen on making students succeed.

Simply put, Dr. Allegretto is THE best math teacher. He's funny, really cares about his students and keeps you awake in class. I wasn't registered in his section but attended his class anyway. Great guy, really knows his stuff... Italian Sean Connery indeed!
