Horrible Teacher!! Doesn't prepare for class,Tests on optional books and blames you if you don't have it.I questioned test,he didn't know the answer so he told me not to take anymore tests. Questioned assignment he said do whatever you want! Not worth getting an A if you don't learn.He is not man enough to take the blame for his mistakes, JERK!!!!!

Online course for Web Design, class was guided by a very comprehensive and easy-to-follow book, not so much by instructor participation. Prof. Lara was, however, enthusiastic about the topic and was not an absent professor. He encouraged students to contact him by phone regularly and even answered the phone when I called! Good teacher.

All you have to do for his class is show up every now and then, turn in the work, and even if it's all wrong, you'll still get a passing grade. All of his tests are online, and you don't have to come to class on test day. Just use your textbook, and you'll pass each test.

I took Walter Lara for 3 different classes. He really knows his stuff and wants his students to succeed (especially the ones in the Internet Services Technology program). He seems to get off track alot in class and you miss out on the subject matter. He will give you some real world knowledge rather than stuff you can read at home out of a book.

Some say he can not teach or is too easy. It's not him at all, it's the subjects they have him teaching. Like Intro to Internet, I mean come on, my little 11 year old brother could handle that one. You have to remember, it's not always the professor, sometime's it's the material or the students. Some people might really need an entire class period to learn how to save a file. I know, I used to work in the open lab.
