Comment:
Personally, my biggest issue with Rochelle is that he fails to give good feedback regarding your work. Also, I find that he grades too hard and fails to recognize a certain level of subjectivity that comes with Creative Writing. If you take him, be prepared to work.

Dr. Rochelle is an amazing professor for Creative Writing. He assigns interesting topics that are challenging yet allow you to explore different writing styles. He can be a tough grader, but he gives clear feedback so you can improve on the next assignment.

He is a tough grader. He is very picky about what he likes in writing so if you don't write in his style it's tough to do well. He is a nice guy but tough to please.

I had him for the prose section of 302. Rochelle is very nice and pretty easy to get an A out of if the quality of your work is high (you won't need to run to his office every other week or anything), but he can be extremely disorganized and confusing sometimes. He's a nice guy though, and knows what he's talking about. Recommended.

BEST professor ever. He is extremely enthusiastic and genuinely cares about helping you improve your writing. Plus he has a good sense of humor and always takes into account how everyone is coming along with assignments to decide whether the due date is fair. TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HIM!

His comments are thorough as to what he likes or doesn't, but not very helpful with revising. He's difficult to read and seems like he doesn't want to get too close to his students. It's hard to tell if he likes you or not. His comments tend to be double-sided, especially in one-on-one conferences. A decent professor, but not the warmest.

Great professor! He really knows what he's talking about. He was a little moody at times, but I enjoyed his class.

Never quite sure what he wanted. He definetly gives lots of feedback about how good or bad it was but doesn't tell you what to do to change it. The assignments were very exciting and I did learn alot. I felt like the effort I put into my assignments wasn't reflected in my grades, maybe that was just me. I loved the in class journals. Be wary.

The perfect class for anyone who wants an easy A in Engl 101. His assignments are fun and in first person. True, there's a lot of writing, but the assignments are generally pretty easy. One of few professors that understand students are HUMAN and always gives you a second chance. Fun professor, fun class, easy A. What an easy-going and fun prof.

Great guy, great class. Very laid back, but you do get a lot of work done. Participation is key in this one, kids. Couple big projects, but nothing to freak out about.

So easy it hurts at times. All you need to do is go to class, actively participate and seriously do the online forums and extra credit (one overall final point per entry) and you'll do very well in there. Good books and discussions too. Very worthwhile.

AWESOME! I hated English before his class. He's such a good teacher and some of the best discussions I ever had were in his class. Just an amazing teacher all around! Highly recommend taking at least one of his classes!
