Knows Sociology well, but each week he expects us to write a 5 pages paper. This course is based on papers. No one in my class ever got A on their papers, B is the highest score. Also, he doesn't really care or listens to you. If you're late (5-10 mins), he will give you the dirtiest look.

I would absolutely never take any of this professor's classes again. Hardly went over the topics, was 45 minutes late to class and does not care about his student's success or education. I once tried to talk to him during his office hours and he was unbelievably rude, made me feel like I was just taking up his time. I will never recommend him.

This man literally doesn't explain a single assignment, even though we have one every single week. Yes it's just a five page paper, but you have no idea what to do with it. He explains the chapter after you turn in the application so it doesn't even matter.

I would recommend anybody to take this class over the SUMMER, as you will only have to deal with it for a month versus four. The teacher himself is kind, but he doesnt give clear instructions on your assignments and expects you to figure it out yourself, because he says he doesnt accept emails. He is a disorganized mess.

There is a 5 page application due every week. This class was supposed to be a hybrid but he told the class he doesn't know how to do that so everything is insanely unorganized. More than half of the class dropped his class and right now the class' average grade is an F. He said no one gets a 10/10 because no one is perfect. Do not take this teacher

I liked him and I had no issues with this teacher. Yes, you will have to do a 4 page paper on the chapters and if you put a little work into them, you should do just fine. There are no exams but a lot of class discussions, video watching, and use of the textbook. I never experienced a bad side to him and I thought he was an overall nice guy.

Nice guy but definitely not worth taking this class. A paper is due every week and his grading is all his opinion. Never got one 10/10 even though my papers covered his guidelines and his feedback. His grading doesn't even make sense and he can't justify it either. Slight teaching but we just read the textbook. There's a reason 1/3 class dropped.

Only his viewpoint mattered, and he didn't take criticism well. Doesn't teach at all in class, and most of what you learn you have to read yourself in the textbook.

Has a sense of humor and a nice guy in general, but I expected a little more. There is a little bit of a language barrier because of his strong accent. We usually read a chapter or researched things on our own and then talked about it in class AFTER writing a paper. Wish he talked about what we were GOING to write about, not the other way around.

Only lectures in class, few participations in class, does notice when you're not there, takes attendance at the END of EVERY class, lets you make-up work before the semester ends which is helpful, has an accent and can be hard to understand clearly when he lectures, boring class, Nice guy, I think he likes teaching and cares

Avoid taking him at all costs. You have to write a 5 page paper every week. The tests are very hard, and attendance is required even though you usually just sit in awkward silence while he thinks of things to say about the chapter. Also he will test you on a 20 minute video he showed 3 weeks ago.

Working full time, I had to resort to taking a night class. Madzura was the only available professor with a class time I could do. He is from Africa, and has a very strong accent, making it somewhat hard to understand him. When it comes to assignments, he is unclear regarding due dates and the syllabus is confusing as well. He gets off topic often

I enjoyed Prof Madzura. He goes over a lot of information online and you do need to read the book on your own. I did not find this to be a problem as it is a college level course. I enjoyed discussing National issues and how they are relevant in Minnesota.

To be honest I'm surprised at his low rating. I really enjoyed this class. He doesn't do lectures as much as kind of a random discussion about what we were supposed to read. I took a summer class that was 5 weeks. We had to write a reflection on each chapter, had one more paper, and 4 tests. If you read the book it was very easy to get an A.

I can not say that I would take another of his classes. He is unclear on alot of things, and goes off topic in his lectures way too often. It is really easy to get an A as long as you do the work though.

I took Dr. Madzura in the fall of 2015, I was just sure I was going to be stressed throughout this course, however he was so sweet and was available whenever I had a question. By paying attention, and turning my assignments in on time, I passed his class. I would recommend his class to others.

If u like 2 write few reflections for 5 pages in every few month & turn in 2 pages what u read on the chapters each week. He is friendly and nice, but he has a super strong accent, which made the class was hard to understand. If u like read tones of chapters and read on ur own, this will be a easy "A" class for u. Good luck :)

Prof. Madzura has bad reviews but he is actually a good teacher, I like him. You do have to read the book. He does take attendance I don't know that it has a major impact on your grade. I enjoyed going to his class. He goes off the book and looks up statistics and other information from other sites. I found it helpful in deciphering actual statist

The class it self is interesting. I learned a lot from reading the book. He's a nice guy but VERY confusing and unclear. Most of my classmates couldn't understand him. Assignments are pretty easy, just make the time to do them. The best advice I can give is to show up and participate in his lectures, even if they aren't about class.

The lectures do not have much to do with the coursework, but the chapters in the book and exams are exactly the same, word for word. The exams are incredibly straight-forward and you can use the book and your notes during tests. The syllabus is intimidating but the actual expectations for the course are much lower than that of the instructions.
