Take notes and read the book. He gives homework that becomes bonus points on exams. He also gives hints to what is on the exam. If you do well on the exams, he doesnt make you take the final!

If someone had a question, he made fun of them. If he asked us a question that we clearly had no idea what the answer was, he called us idiots. His lectures were extremely choppy and made no sense. He goes off on tangents and then gets mad at the class if we are behind schedule. Do not take Kory.

Dr. Kory is very knowledgeable about geography and is a great professor to take in the discipline. His grading technique is a bit unethical, but if he knows who you are and likes you and you participate, he will grade you easier than someone who does not show up to class. He will call you out and make you look dumb if you are wrong or skip.

Comment:

Kory is a decent professor. He teaches the same material from the textbook (that he wrote himself). He assigns multiple small assignments that don't get an actual grade, but become extra credit on exams, if you complete them. Most reccomends reading the book, but I've managed to get a B on tests through only my class notes.

Guess I'm not one of the chosen. You need to be a geology major and/or someone he takes a shine to in order to be graded fairly in this class. He doesn'the allow students to compare test grading because of the major discrepancies. Warning: take a different professor

great teacher if you get to know him. Everything he teaches in lecture is on his exams. He doesn't try to trick you on any assignment or test. He makes the 3rd exam optional for students who do well on the first 2 exams. A little loud, but very passionate & I would definitely take him again

Funniest guy ever; his sarcasm gets me every time. Test are some what hard. There is essays on tests! A must to purchase the books required. Better come to class too because he will point you out next class for missing!

Loved him. Made geography actually interesting. The exams are taken right out of the book. He makes fun of students who are doing badly because the exams are easy A's if you open the book, they deserve the ridiculing. Also, exempted everyone with A's from 1 out of the 3 exams (So study, it pays off) when I took him and always has an optional final.

Dr. Kory is really an excellent teacher. He can be really rude sometimes and a jerk but he explains things so good and is a great teacher. Really if you fail this class your just not looking at the book. the entire exam is based on the book and he goes over every part of the book in detail its an easy class with a great teacher.

Has no problem telling students that they have stupid answers. Yells when you ask a question. Will turn students into the punchline of jokes. Horrible teacher. As a student, I shouldn't be afraid to ask a question. I feel more comfortable google-ing than going to his office for help. Worst teacher on campus!

Thinks Geography is the most important thing in the world.."geography majors will make the big bucks" as an Engineering Major I think that is a joke! I got an EASY A. He is very arrogant and rude. Don't waste time talking to him bc he doesn't want anything to do with you. I went to see him once and he literally shut the door in my face. VERY POOR!

Did not grade fairly, I felt that he played favorites. When I asked him to show me how he derived my grade he became upset and would not explain it. He then asked me what my major was(education) and proceeded to tell me that I would be a horrible teacher someday. I always make sure that my students know how their grades are calculated.
