Terrible. I ended up withdrawing because he's such a horrible professor, and I've never withdrawn from a class before. I am a senior PCH major with a 3.9+ GPA, and this first-year PCH class was going to derail my work. His lectures are uninformed and frequently offensive. Avoid this guy like the plague.

Professor Stohler is the worst professor i've had at Southern. He goes off on tangents every class so it is VERY hard to learn what he is even talking about. Your grade is based on the 4 tests which are extremely hard since he doesn't teach in class. No office hours, just awful and wellness as a course is NOT as hard as he makes it. RIDICULOUS.

I found this class absolutely fascinating. Stohler is a great speaker and the concepts he brought up in this class are very important for EVERYONE to learn and adopt. It's also the most straightforward class you'll ever take. Literally show up, take notes, and pay attention and you should get at least a B on each test. No projects/papers at all.

:) Omggg he is one of the best professors at SCSU. Goes over material step by step. Study for the tests though. They are word for word from the packets. Definitely take him! One of the best. I have so much respect for him. ♥

I found his class to be extremely interesting. I was in a lecture style class so he taught off of power points and had us printout outlines of the topics. There was 4 tests and he drops the lowest grade. The tests can be difficult, you need to study the outlines. Each test was 50 multiple choice questions. This class is not an easy A.

Had for Wellness, hilarious, one of the best profs I have had. He truly "gets it". Anyone who didn't like him just didn't get it, although its mostly common sense. He's quick witted. People who are a little slow don't like him, but its because they're slow. If you're intelligent, you will love this man.

Just take his summer course instead of the regular semester course. Much more worth it. His outlines are basically the same as his tests, definately need to study!! He rambles too much, but very funny guy.

His outlines that he posts online are the key to passing this course. His lectures are not relevant to his tests at all, but you will learn intersting things. You NEED to study the outlines. The tests are word for word with the outlines. Pretty simple class.

One of the funniest professors I've ever had. Material is not that interesting but he keeps you entertained. The tests are all 50 questions multiple choice. No homework, no textbook, and he puts all the notes and powerpoints online. Just study those and you should do fine

I took the one credit version of public health and it was an easy A. You definitely don't need to go to class, just study the notes he puts online (not the powerpoints) and if you know them pretty well you should have no problem doing well. He's kind of rude...he really likes getting a reaction out of people and isn't afraid of offending anyone.

you have to literally memorize at least ten typed pages he puts online..then the tests are impossible; you have to know word for word what was on the sheets.

As far as the complaints for his obscure tests, not only did I find his material easy grades posted in class showed most of the class got B's or A's. I think he switched up his gameplan. With that said, He's a chill professor in a class that revolves around classic "self help" material that you can find in any book. Learned a lot about life.

Test questions are nitpicky- you have to know exact definitions and read EXTREMELY closely to do well. Pointless- why make a test full of trick questions? Why teach us simple concepts in difficult to understand language? avoid!!

WONDERFUL professor &SO funny!I learned ALOT about life in this class. I wish I took the 3 credit course. Not a typical "health" class. More about the philosophy on how we can better our lives. The tests are tough but he lets you see them the day before and some you can use notes on. Oh and no homework! I DEF. RECOMEND HIM!!

HILLARIOUS. Absolutely hysterical. He knows you dont want to be there. At all. The class itself is absolutely useless, but the University requires this class. The only good thing is he preaches common sense to idiots. Thank GOD. Multiple choice tests, no homework. Funny guy. Just his vulgarity is worth going to clas and laughing your butt off.

This guy was hysterical! Made everyone laugh all the time. Awesome guy. I hated health classes but would take him again. If you have ANY common sense you don't even need to study. I missed a bunch of classes but it didn't matter bc everything was just common sense. If you liked your first two exam grades you didn't have to take the final!

Material not interesting or relevant to what I had imagined or find useful in the world. Funny, but tests can be manipulative and confusing. Attendence not worth my time. Perhaps in a course with different material, he may be more effective. Unfortunately, this is a requirement. Unless you want to bring down your GPA over a 1 cr. course..avoid.
