Ski is a great guy outside of class but he's a really jumbled in his lectures. His slides are hard to follow and his exams are all over the place. I feel like he's one of those really smart people who doesn't understand what it's like to struggle in a class.

Ski is a great guy! He's funny, sweet, and passionate about his work. I've taken three of his classes. He teaches random facts and briefly explains core concepts which is confusing. He also doesn't have much organization. His power points are jumbled up definitions and he rarely commits to what he says. Tests can be difficult but the book will save

Easy grader, but tests are difficult. Lectures entirely off of the powerpoint (almost 50 slides per class). Not very helpful and clear when questions are asked. Unless you're good at memorizing, this class will be difficult.

Ski is fantastic. Explains things you have heard before in a way that makes them simple and easy to remember because it finally makes sense. Willing to help as long as you help yourself. Don't take him too seriously: he enjoys dry humor. Loves to spam students with emails (internships, jobs, etc). One of the best teachers.

Overall a good professor.His tests and quizzes are challenging and require a lot of studying,but that is to be expected. He allows you to access his powerpoints online which can be helpful for studying.Creating graphs and charts for lab can be annoying as he is very picky,but he is doing his best to prepare us for realistic settings.

This professor's tests and quizzes are way harder than they need to be for the material they cover. The 6 chapters worth of reading for a 5 pt quiz for every topic is also a bit much to handle, especially when you have to do the reading while you are still learning about the previous topic.

Take his Costa Rican Ecology course if you can afford it! Talk about hands on learning. Ski was a great instructor and tour guide, speaks fluent spanish, and doesnt' mind taking us to karoke bars. He's also an accomplished prankster so watch your back!

The class was really difficult and had many complaining students who couldn't hack it, but Ski was always available to help. I managed to earn an A, so I know it's possible. He's kindof like an absent-minded proffessor at times. Fun lab.

Very intelligent. Tests are difficult and to filter out the pertinent information from class that might be tested on is a challenge (he gets specific on several questions)....to this day I can't find the answer to one of the fish bio questions...and we were even told which page the ?? was derived from!

Ski is such a nice guy, but...damn...his class is so hard. His lectures are easy enough to understand, but his tests are unnecessarily hard. He even says after you take them that he expects people to fail. He is always willing to help out, but for the most part the help- barely helps.

What can you say about Ski? He is awesome. Teaching style is fun. You really learn in his classes. Had him for more than one class. Lots of hands-on outside and in the boats. I learned a lot.
