You can pass this class by googling interpretations of the reading. I did not care for this class. I especially did not like acting out poems and stories ... aka putting on a play

You have to read a story, play or poetry everyday for class then you have to take a 5 point quiz on what you read and this is basically your participation grade too. He takes off the two lowest quiz score so you can basically miss two classes because he doesn't let you make up the quizzes. It's really not that challenging though. He's a nice guy.

It's one of those classes that it seems impossible one week then easy the next. He really doesn't do much, most of the class is discussion of what we read with his input. His midterm tests were extremely difficult (class avg. about 50%) but he let us revise it and make up half those points. Overall, he wouldn't be my first choice, but he's ok.

If you interpret a story in a different way (which you can everyone can interpret things differently) even if you have evidence to back it up, it's wrong because it is not his opinion. I literally passed by googling interpretations of every storypoem. He gives reviews KNOW THEM! Also take good notes on everything he says &how HE interprets it.

I started out liking this class but immediately hated it after the daily quizzes started and after I found out the major assignment we had to write a paper stating an argument against your topic. It completely messed up my grade and I failed this class by 3 points. Very frustrating overall, and I love writing.

A really nice guy. Quizzes daily, that make up 25% of grade. Midterm was hard. Have to do three group performances of poems and short stories. I liked him but would not take him again. Really helpful during office hours.

good guy but terrible class. quizzes every day worth 3 points but if he doesn't like you good luck getting 3/3 even if you're answers are right. midterm and final are bs even if you write down what he says word for word in the review you still miss points. avoid this class, pick another teacher.

Even though I only had him for about a month before he took leave, I could not stand his way of teaching. Everything we talked about in class had no relevance, then we would just be expected to write an essay on nonsense. That essay was then graded on such a tough scale. I'm glad he ended up leaving early in the semester.

He is the best English professor I had at Slippery Rock. He helped me to complete an honors project, answered every inquiry and met with me to review my process. Since then, he has written me recommendation letters, etc. and remains a supporting figure. He cares if you care. It's that simple.

You have to answer about two questions every day in a short answer quiz worth three points but it is nothing to stress over. You use the textbook a lot. This guy has a beautiful voice. He should record books on tape. He is perfect for reading the poems an stories. You get a group to do various things with and you become pretty close with them.

He is nice, but he is not an easy grader. He is attuned to the clarity of your answers, amount of information used, grammatical correctness and overall unity. Test questions are essays. Always write more than you think you should and for presenations, prepare to say more than just summaries. I promise you that you will get an A. Do readings!

I loved Dr. Zeiger's class! He is a great prof who is very layed back. His class can be a little boring at times, but trust me - PAY ATTENTION! His exams are all essay, but he usually gives all the answers in the study guides. If not, he goes over it in class so take notes!!
