Brilliant guy, best History professor at PSU. He'll scare you early in the course but when you see the grading curve...If you put in some effort and are reasonably smart, you'll do well. I don't know if he really gives only 2 A's, but I unexpectedly got an A-. Challenging lecturer/easy grader. You will become smarter in his class, guaranteed.

Highly recommend not taking anything with him. Rambles endlessly, and spends the majority of the class talking about anything but the topic. If you don't read the book, and read it well, you might as well drop the class. Attendance is mandatory. Supposed curves really high, but the class is just not worth it.

really smart guy, but tends to ramble and get off topic with what he talks about. the class is difficult no doubt - the tests are all short answer type and the material isnt easy to read through. it mostly makes sense by the end, but you reall have to pay attention.

Lectures are worthless and don't cover much of anything that is on the exams. Read the text book and pay attention to the important people and events to do well on his exams, NOT the tangents about Thomas Jefferson and Catholic school...

Never have I had a professor teach so little in a lecture before. Professor Moses does not understand that for students to understand the contents of an exam, the professor must TEACH what is on the exam, not random tangents completely unrelated to the course. DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE WITH PROFESSOR MOSES! Average grade on last exam: 18 out of 30.

I was so interested in this class when I signed up, he ruined it. I've never had a problem pouring in extra time and work to get an A, but 1. it was hard to drag myself to class, 2. reading primary documents from 15-,16-,17-, and 1800s with no guidance is a little tough!

I'll be honest, I sat in the back and slept through half his lectures. In addiction, I didn't even buy the books and still got an A. His tests are all multichoice and very easy as long as you have some knowledge of US history. Don't let him scare you on the first day. He does ramble, but just write down what seems important and you'll get an easy A

Mid term had all sorts of random questions, and then some middle school level questions. Thought i did bad, curved so hard i got a B+. Then the final was HALF of the midterm questions, I dont know what i got on the final, but I ended up getting an A as my final grade. Theres no way he only gives two As in this one, thats just not me.

Most people who've never had Prof. Moses thinks the classes are impossible -- until they get their exams back. Though they seem tough while you're taking them, he grades on such a curve that a 50% will often translate into a B+. The lectures are interesting and there's not much need to take notes. Read everything he assigns and make sure to write anything intelligent for exam questions (all short answer) and you should be fine!

A 400 level professor teaching a basic history course. He's an awesome guy, but he rambles on an class and is hard to follow (sit up front). Tricky tests, but they aren't as bad as you think they will be. Not too hard as long as you read EVERYTHING and pay attention during discussions.

Moses is probably the best professor on this campus. If you like history, you would be insane not to take a class he teaches. He is incredibly knowledgable and kind. Do the work, get to know the guy, and enjoy the lectures.

I LOVE MOSES! He is the best professor I think I have ever had the pleasure of having. He is one of the most intelligent men you will ever meet. Take his class only if you are serious about studying and don't expect the prof to do all the work for you. It is a challenge!

Wow, and I thought this class was going to be interesting. So far I can honestly say I have learned absolutely nothing, and have gotten absolutely nothing from the class. If he didn't take attendance every time we had class, I would not be there.

He rambles in lecture and his lectures are unrelated to the readings . We never discuss the readings and he thinks he's elitist about himself. He doesn't like to give A's. He also said one paper was 50% of our grade and tat it is impossible to get an A.

take an upper level history class with this prof, if you want to learn something. though he may seem to not make sense if you keep paying attention you will realize just how great of a teacher he is. his lessons stuck with me long after i graduated.

Goes on tangents about nothing! Turned a fun class into a nightmare. One question on his exam was, who is the illustrator of a picture on page whatever, of the text! Who knows and who cares!!!!
