Comment:
Dr. Hu definitely knows Physics and makes it very clear that if you want to succeed you have to understand your own mistakes and learn for yourself. Take advantage of your cheat sheet for your exams, and really focus on what kinds of problems will be applied to what formulas! He is very difficult but work your tail off and you can get a good grade

Worst teacher I've ever had. Every powerpoint is still like reading out of a textbook, so it is hard to comprehend. It doesn't help that he directly reads off of these either. Keep up with the homework as the semester progresses so you aren't bombarded. USE CHEGG!!! Tests are tough, memorize homework questions in order to pass tests. Huge curve!

Nice man but a horrible teacher. Does not post grades because of the "curve" and then when you do get the grades it is too late to do anything about it. You spend all your time doing homework and have to go to the tutoring center for help. Asked a question about why I got a certain grade and received no response. Was a truly bad experience.

Unless you want to spend every night in the PTC, get chegg homework help. Make sure you do homework weekly. Quizzes are worth more than you think, so go to class prepared and don't blow them off. If you want to do well on Dr. Hu's exams understand all homework problems. Its a difficult class, but if you really try its not impossible.

Dr. Hu is a very intelligent man with no talent at teaching. He goes over things in class way too fast and isn't very good at explaining at all. He does have a big curve but its necessary so the whole class doesn't fail. Worst professor I've ever had.

In comparison to the poor professors in the ECU physics department, Dr. Hu is pretty good! He knows his subject, gives relevant examples during class, and is helpful in office hours. He is very straightforward and gives a big curve (70% is an A). He also drops the lowest of the four exams. I would take him again!

Dr. Hu is very helpful if you go to his office. You basically have to take advantage of using the cheat sheets for tests, and make sure you know how to apply the formulas. Its not difficult if you come to class. Use bing as your search engine, and all of the answers to the web assign are online. A 70 in the class is an A.

Dr. Hu takes no initiative to assist his students. It's apparent that this professor doesn't want to teach. He states to have a huge curve, and yet it doesn't help when his near impossible hw and irrelevant tests are combined. This is the only rating I have conducted, which show the severity of my concern for future students.

This professor is the worst I have ever had. Dr. Hu doesn't take any initiative to help his students, he uses WebAssign which fails to help any student, and he doesn't even attend or grade his exams. His grad students do everything but teach the course. Web assign is a pass/fail system that doesn't assist in any learning. Don't take this man.

DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! He doesnt help you understand the processes at all! If you go to him for help, he shrugs you off and tells you complete the homework. We got into an argument about this. If I dont understand how to do it, then how am I supposed to do the homework. He is not helpful at all. He's a very cold man. Run while you can!!

Dr. Hu gives such a big curve. A 70% is an A in his class. He makes you answer questions every few weeks as a participation grade and that is his only attendence policy. All tests are multiple choice and the homework wasn't due until the end of the semester. Overall, I did horribly and still came out with an A

I got an A in this class during spring semester. The key to succeeding is going to Pirate Tutoring pretty much two to three times a week to get all of your homework completed and then reworking those problems over and over so that you'll be prepared for tests. He is very helpful outside of office hours. Also, go to class as often as you can!

I have no clue what the deal with his rating because he's really helpful. If you take the effort to approach him outside of class for homework, he explains things very clearly. If you can get pass the Asian accent, he's a fairly good teacher. He recognizes that the subject is hard and curves the grades accordingly, got an A with moderate effort.

He is one of the worst teachers that I have had since I have been and since I have been at ECU. All he does is go through slide shows every class. He doesn't know how to explain topics good or anything. My best advice for everyone else, is to not take this professor, PERIOD.

Whatever you do, DO NOT take physics with this man! His accent is horrible and you can't understand him. He uploads powerpoints to BB, and he basically reads off them VERBATUM! He doesn't actually explain anything. 5 tests that are 10 questions only. He will do one example per class, wow that really helps! NOT! I went to every class, still FAILED

The worst teacher I have had at ECU. Not very friendly or inviting, refuses to go over problems prior to exams. Very secretive about grading process. You never really know where you stand. If you can, take someone else. You might actually learn physics. I went to every class and studied 5-10 hours a week. I feel ill prepared for physics 1260.

Yes, it is true...he gives a major curve. BUT if you really want to learn this subject: DONT TAKE HIM. you will not learn anything you cant even understand him. Webassign is long but you have 15 tries most of the questions can be pulled up on yahoo. I made 33's on all three tests and made a C in the class

i had to grade replace the F i got the first time around and his class got me a C. there were 5 quizzes, the lowest score was dropped. there was a lot of homework (but if i would have done it along it would have been fine) and a 25 question exam. if you get 75% you get an A. so i got a 50-something and got a C! TAKE HIM if you have to take physics!
