Comment:

She goes into a lot of proofs which seem pointless for the tests. The problems she does in class are pretty much on the test but with different numbers. Her accent isn't bad at all, and she is very helpful if you go to her to ask. Just pray you don't get the same horrible TA that I got. Solid prof.

Comment:

She was one of the best math teachers I ever had. Her exams are hard because of how thorough they are, but just do practice problems & the problems she gives during lecture, and you should be okay. It took me until the last test to realize that exam Q's are almost exactly like class problems. Don't rely on the book, go to class! She explains well!

Comment:

Song is a tough professor. Her tests get harder and harder and you have to be great at math to survive. During lecture she often goes into long proofs that will not help most students. Avoid if possible, unless you are a math whiz. She is the Department Chair.

Sometimes it's a little difficult to follow her in class. Going to her office hours can help or just having a study group. Homework can be long, but if you start early, it's manageable. The tests are reasonable, especially if you do the homework and listen in class. If you don't plan to listen, don't bother going to lecture.

Great professor. As long as you do the homework, practice problems in the book, and the lecture examples you should do fine on the test. She gives partial credit, especially if you show you understand what you're doing and why. She's extremely helpful if you have questions and go to office hours. There was a curve on the third exam, too.

Somewhat difficult to understand. Spends a lot of class time on showing proofs. Homework is not overwhelmingly long, but can be tough. Quizzes are longer but generally fair. Exam questions are much harder than homework problems.

Dr. Song was soo nice. Always willing to help and allows walk-ins to her office. What you learn in discussion is what is on the exams and what you do for mathzone is what is on your quizzes in discussion. easy class!! final is hard though.

Very nice lady, but hard to understand. Skips around in lecture...very confusing. Likes to spend class time on proofs. Hwk and quizzes are easy, but not reflective of the tests. Tests are only 15-20 questions, but difficult.

I took her for Calc this semester and her examples on the board are nothin like the test she gives, the test are pretty hard. The final was almost impossible she siad it was going to be 15 questions but it was more like 40 because each question had a part 3 parts which made it almost impossible. I would not suggest taking her for Calc.try Thia (sp)

Dr.Song is really a gr8 professor who really made calculus very interesting..if u attend her class regularly and take notes u will be in gd shape..xamz are basically from her lecture examples..gives xtra credit pretty often..do homeworks; nothin 2 worry..very helpful if u hav doubts..

She's very helpful and kind. Her accent is not bad at all. I respect her for speaking the English language as well as she does, considering the fact her native language is not English. Go to class and do the homework and you'll be fine. She tends to put a few lecture example problems on her tests, so take good notes because it pays off.

Good professor- pulls her test questions right from the examples in class. Grade depends on mainly tests, and you only have 2 a semester. Curves in the end and gives extra credit sometimes. Her accent isnt as bad as people say, and she will help if you are confused.

Has a accent. Good teacher. First 3 exams were easy. True/false section on every exam (30% of exam). Questions can be very tricky. Gives hints in class on what will be on the test. Homework/attendance is needed to do good in the class. Curves: 85%+ is an A. FINAL EXAM IS VERY HARD. The material is taught very quickly and not covered in discussion.

The homework and lectures really prepare you well for the tests, except for the final which she covers in about a week, and tested on stuff she never covered. Otherwise, taking notes in her class really pays off and as long as you do the homework you can get a decent grade with minimal effort and a lot of cramming.

i dont know how she is for pre calc or calc...but for calc 2 she sucks..you cant understand anything she says or writes and she gives the easiest examples then kills us on the test. the final was impossible especially because the last week of school she taught about a chapter a class...
