Problem set due at each exam, assigned a group for homework. Exams were typically examples from class, so take notes/review them. He's sometimes hard to understand.

Only teaches two lectures. The rest are in-class lab assignments where he is extremely unhelpful and if you don't do it his way, it's wrong.

Doesn't teach till last two classes and expects you to know what he is looking for the rest of the semester. everything but tests are group based so better hope you get a good partner or life is hell. Tests can be tough especially the final, he will put some random stuff on it.

Class was easy until the final exam. He graded it completely different from the other tests and it dropped my grade from a 97 to an 89. When I went over the final with him he laughed in my face for doing so poorly. Do not take him.

Great professor, always ready to help. He makes you prepare by your own and will advice you if you can make any changes. Great class for people if looking to learn the subject. Would definitely recommend to every one to choose his class.

Good teacher, a bit hard to understand at first, but after that not too bad, lectures are boring, but the programming assignments and tests aren't too bad, and he's really helpful if you ask him for help, would take again.

Not an easy class. The material is confusing and complicated, and the programming isn't taught during class, so assignments are difficult. He grades on a curve, but even so, be prepared to do a lot of learning on your own outside of class.

All I have to say is don't wait til the last minute to work on programming assignments. He isn't very clear on what he wants implemented, so allow time to ask him during office hours. If you get the assignments done early, the tests are a breeze! Other than being a little unclear, he's a great professor, and not too difficult.

I didn't know STL before the class...and I still don't. Grading is pretty easy though, and if you do everything I imagine you'd at least get a C. I missed an assignment, but he let me do it late for partial credit. He seems to be helpful...maybe the problem I have is with the class and not him. This class is why I switched from CS to CIS.

Although hard to understand at times, he has a typical data structures teaching style. Assignments are very thorough, it helps to know C++ and STL beforehand. Would take him again.

Well...if you know your programming stuff, you can get by fine, as you won't need to learn anything from him. If you expect him to teach you anything though...I don't know what to tell you. On the plus side, the diagrams he draws on the board often end up looking like that Duck Dodgers map to planet X. So that's something to look forward to.

Oh my god. I would LOVE the gun shot wound. I have nothing good to say at all. His english is very bad. I've asked him questions directly and get a response to something totally different. His tests are out there.

Well he is not the worst teacher but close. Can't understand him most of the time. The class itself is pretty easy. Either sleep through class or just dont go. All you have to do is read the PPT slides. The exams are WIERD. We had a 20 pt curve.

Worst CS teacher I've ever had, and I had Batra for two classes. I feel like I know less than I did when I started. Choosing between attending his class and recieving a gunshot wound would be a hard decision. Skip class and read the PPT slides later.

This man loves powerpoint and loves talking, but can't use either to teach effectively. Avoid him if possible.
