This course was far more engaging than NEW160. She chose eye-opening articles & brought up important points to consider. She sometimes squelched conversations that were heated, which could have addressed deeper assumptions. She's behind in our final grades because she moving onto York U. Really good prof. And her essay comments were very helpful.

She's passionate about the material and very bright. In her weaker topics she's far less dynamic & confident in her delivery ( but Trotz is amazing). Her use of media improved over time. Conversations w/ her outside of class will yield deep & honest insights. Her feedback on written assignments is stellar! The prep for the final was focused.

This prof really knows her stuff. Yes, I can understand how some ppl may find her lecture's boring but how else can she teach such a big class? It is a lecture hall after all!!! And it's not like her voive is monotone or anything. Very smart, passionate prof! You will be surprised as to how much u can learn if u attend lectures and do the readings.

Zoe is a delight! I love her so much. She is INCREDIBLY smart, one of those profs that just overwhelm you with their knowlege & intelligence. In the best way. Her lectures are clear, captivating & well organised. The course is challenging though (which is rewarding, you learn a lot) so don't take it for the wrong reasons. PS it's spelled Newman.

I also found her non-confrontational, but she still managed to find a way to challenge student's comments when they were oppresive. I believe she was extremely fair in marking and in prep for the exam. Her lectures were very much based in the readings, which some find helpful and some find boring. I quite enjoyed learning from her.

she was a sweet person but a very unsure lecturer. she stuttered and "ummm-ed" often. She had disorganized notes and often jump all over when lectuering. However she was very nice and nonconfrontational. if you have the choice of profs take this course with Trotz you will get way more out of it
