Comment:
I took the online class. It seemed very elementary and based almost entirely on group discussions of the material. There was a lot of reading and videos to watch but it's easy to skim and get an A on the discussions. It seems like only 20% of the class was really making any effort though.

There is so much reading in this class. It is so boring a dry and couldn't comprehend. I would never take this class again, lots of busy work and hard to keep up.

Hardest grader I've had for papers and projects. Test reviews are nothing remotely close to what the test will look like. Most test questions are from notes, if you don't take good ones or miss a day your going to have trouble. Not a fun class.

Dr. Childers is a good professor. She does have a lot of assigned readings, but you can get by not doing those. It is so hard to take notes in that class though because she just rambles on and doesn't tell you what will be on the test. You need to be in class to get information for the test. Tests are tough, but very passable class.

Comment:
Dr. Childers is an easy grader, she's also very forgiving if you miss an assignment, don't expect full credit however. She is very disorganized but all you really need to do is show up and turn in what is due for the next class and you'll be fine. Don't wast your time with assigned readings, we never touched them in class or on the exams.

Childers makes the class actually very interesting! She hates big exams and doesn't weigh the midterm and final that heavily and focuses on you learning the information. Almost no need for book besides midterm and final because her lectures are pretty in depth and really puts the book to shame. Amazing professor!

Horrible professor, never take a class from this person. She hates helping students and loves to give a a mound of useless homework and mind numbing/ mind less things for students to read.

Comment:
This class was ridiculously easy. I didnt do any of the readings and barely studied for the tests and still got an A in the class. Moreover, her reasoning is biased and overtly left-wing; ironic coming from a professor that claims to look at social problems from an "objective" point of view.

Her lectures are a mix of statements that are either common sense or obviously wrong. She is also unbelievably boring, it is almost painful to sit through her lectures. Kindergartners could do her assignments, and I didn't even have to buy the textbook. It is a really easy A if you can put up with it.

Comment:
She is very knowledgable and the class is interesting. However, she often cancelled class right before it was scheduled and expects you to read 30-60 pages per class period, including "on reserve" articles, which are a pain to deal with, and you have to write a response to each reading assignment. It's a lot of work for one class.

While she is interesting and does keep your attention, her class overall sucks. Her tests are hard, there are like 30 pages of reading per class period, and good luck on getting anything returned to you graded. Count on stuff not being completed, on her part. I was very frustrated with this class and her. Wouldn't take a class with her again.
