We've just started Calc 2 and I'm already hating this class. Im extremely good at math(ez A in calc 1); this course is not hard. But the professor is BAD. He's an old man with horrible handwriting, grades insanely hard, and makes his homework x10 harder than it needs to be. Avoid this professor at all costs. Im so sad to be stuck in this class.

Extremely, extremely tough grader. Hardest I've ever seen. If you do everything right but get the answer wrong, you get 0 points. He does know his stuff, but most people tend to not do well because of his grading. The only silver lining is that my class had an SI, and he lets you do retests to get a max score of 75. Wouldn't recommend if possible.

He spends class doing practice problems that do not help you when you are working on the WebAssign. He allows retest on all of his exams. All of his test are cumulative. He also tends to talk your ear off and give lifelong advise.

Dr Parker is a extremely great proffessor! He makes calculus a breeze! He makes time in his class to answer questions and work example to make sure u understand the material before proceeding! He is great for all levels of calculus. He firmly believes in Murphys law, so review hw and previous tests because chances are that is on the next test

I DO NOT recommend taking this class. It's an extremely difficult, he does not use the text book unless its for assigning homework. My class ended up being 14 chapters behind compared to the other Stat 155 classes. By the second half of the semester, about half the class dropped the class. He gets very off topic, and grades extremely harshly.

Comment:

No matter what professor you choose for calculus, it's going to be hard. Dr. Parker is a pretty good teacher. He did many example problems and was willing to workout homework problems during class when we got stuck. He also has a really good re-test policy and was always available during his office hours. Try to attend SI sessions for extra help.

Lectures are awful because its impossible to read what he writes on the board. Seems to know a lot about the subject but doesn't know how to teach it at all. Reads straight from the textbook and rants about everything unrelated to statistics.

This might possibly be the worst teacher i have ever had, he goes at his own pace in class and DOES NOT INTERACT WITH THE CLASS AT ALL, if you don't understand the material too bad. When you ask a question he just repeats what he said, not clearing it up at all. If you are not very good at math i promise you unless you put in mad work you will fail

I would NOT recommend. If I did not have smart friends in that class, I would have never passed. He rarely answers questions which makes understanding his class more difficult. He sits in the front of the class and rambles about Ecstasy and other unrelated topics and he gets off topic all the time. If I could have taken someone else I would have.

This professor knows the material but has a bit of difficulty explaining it. I would say that if you actually go to every class and pay close attention, then you have a good chance of passing, otherwise it would be difficult.

I took Statistics with Parker and hated it. He rambles on about everything but math and then takes information straight from the book with little explanation. He is not clear when it comes to assignments and his retest policy isn't worth the amount of work he required since you can only get as high as a 75%.

I took Dr. Parker for calc 2 and was able to manage an A in the class, BUT I had to work more than hard for it. Lectures are not very clear and he is by far the toughest grader I've had on exams and hw. Going to office hours is a must... There he will be willing to work with you. If you want an A in this class you've got to go above and beyond.

Told a lot of stories about his past, very little about statistics. Went to him multiple times for help, but he kept going off topic. He'll let you redo tests, but all of the questions have to be correct or he won't let you take another one that your real grade will be. Didn't care what was going on, DO NOT TAKE HIM!!! You'll only fail.

This was the worse class iI have ever taken and i like to think I am good at calculus. on our last test only 4 people out of the whole class passed. He is just too old to teach, cannot write clearlybe understood easily, he will go off on random rants about nothing that has to do with class ALL THE TIME. Take someone else for this class.
