Amazing class and professor. The class requires quite a bit of work for non-spanish speakers, but it's worth it. Do all the online work, which is clearly outlined daily. Essentially, lots of work but it's all organized for the students. Dedicate time each day to practice & show up to class willing to participate, and you'll have a great experience!

Denise had lots of energy in the beginning. Week 5: Denise has canceled class TWICE near a 4 day weekend which already canceled 1 of our classes. So, by Week 5, we have missed 3 classes equaling nearly 8 crucial hours of class time. She is also a few minutes late every day. Hoping this changes... People are losing interest & Less group-activity.

Comment:

First impression wasn't great but I ended really enjoying her class and teaching style. Going in with no Spanish experience and being lectured in Spanish for 2 & 1/2 hours was a bit overwhelming, but she makes it easy to follow along. She is very interactive, very encouraging and takes advantage of group activities! I would highly recommend her.

She's not a bad teacher but also is not the most exciting. Fairly easy (although I have taken Spanish before) but the final was surprisingly difficult! Youll hear lots about the Spanish culture and have to memorize geography. Liked her as a person but not the best teacher. Get a green pen!

What a wonderful woman. Really cares about the subject and your success. The class isn't harder than any other spanish class that I've taken, even as an honors class. Not the GREATEST class in the world, but only because she is like a mother, and has that nurturing style of teaching. Makes you feel at home.

Denise Cabanel-Bleuer is an excellent professor. I have enjoyed her class very much. The honors class is not an easy class, but it is not supposed to be easy. If you come into this class with the right mindset, you will do fine. You will be required to speak Spanish in this class. English is only allowed in the last 5 or 10 minutes.

I found this class to be a good investment of time. Denise is a very sweet lady who cares about the success of her student and is very passionate about the language. I never once dreaded coming to this class, even though it was the last class of the week! I would definitely recommend taking this class!

I came into the class knowing very little conversational spanish, but if you stick with it you will see your brain change. I looked forward to this class. Don't be discouraged and make sure you're in the right class level! One of the more rewarding classes I had at OCC.

I took Denise for a couple semester. By far the greatest teach OCC has to offer! she is actually cares about you!! expect a research paper for each class, and tests that directly reflect the homework. how much easier can class get? I just don't hae a ear for language so it felt harder than it actually was.

Denise is one of the most dedicated teachers I've ever had. She is by far my favorite in terms of teaching ability. Absolute must-take if questioning 280H.
