She was the best professor I have ever had, genuinely loves what she is doing and it shows through her lectures making them more interesting. Grading criteria and assignments are clear from the first day. She does make you write a paper but gives you almost the whole semester to do it. She even offered good extra credit this semester.

How this class is a 101 I will never know. Cobbs is a great lecturer and she really cares about the subject which makes the 50 minutes go quick. There are two all written tests and an 8 page research paper!!! The online homework was pointless and screwed me up and taught me nothing. If you like to work hard for a GE take it. Clicker points

This class was not easy by any means, but it was a very interesting class and I learned a great deal. Prof. Cobbs Hoffman was dynamic in her teaching style and was willing to accommodate the needs of her students. I would take her again in a heartbeat.

She is one of the most interesting professors I have had and she is very smart and knows her stuff. Beware she is very fair in her grading but she expects a full effort. Reading quizzes are a little hard. Lots of reading. Overall a really fun class.

This lady is super smart, probably the most intelligent history teacher at SDSU. She assigns a TON of reading and the quizs ask detailed questions (10 questions on 200 pages of reading). Do not take this class with other hard classes because it requires a work load = 9 units. The tests are difficult and require a good understanding of the material

She assigns way too much reading. If you love to spend 5 hours a day reading, then you will love her. Quizes are difficult. She is extreamly intelligent and you will learn a lot from her. Tests are long essay questions, but very doable. Overall, she is worth taking only one time. She is also very biased toward democratic presidents. Very liberal.

quizzes are a bit unfair because they ask only a few questions on a huge amount of reading but over all i enjoyed and recommend the class

Her lectures can be interesting, but she is more of a research professor, not a lecturer, quizzes cover an unrealistic amount of reading and her tests are frightful. Still, the class teaches you a lot about American relations, but it̢۪s nothing more than a 20th century American history class.
