Comment:

Her class is really easy if you simply watch the lectures and take notes. I maybe reviewed an hour before each of the quizzes (4) and midterms (2), and I was able to score 85+ (A) on each of them. Her notes are short and to the point. Make sure to review a bit before the test then you'll be fine. She also drops the lowest midterm and quiz.

Comment:

Lecture capture makes it easy to not go to class and still take notes and get decent grades. Shes dryer than a Nevada desert and loves to sneak diss. There's a quiz every two weeks.

She is very boring when it comes to lectures. She is very dry and so it the TAs. If you take this class, you need to play attention and take good notes. Quizzes are hard and are not multiple choice, you have to be descriptive and match what they have in order to get full credit. If you take this class be prepare to work hard for an A.

Awful. She writes down buzz words and then verbally explains them for definitions. Randomly will go on tangent. Go to class for the iclicker questions for extra credit. No PowerPoint use. Have to write down everything. Go to discussion section.

She is very dry, but explains well. Class is optional, but I'd recommend going because her notes follow perfectly into the tests. No homework, just quizzes/tests. Don't buy the book (its free online if you really want it). She is a great professor, ask her about why she entered Economics and Chile. If you don't skip, an A should be possible for all

Overall not a bad prof. Lectures are pretty boring, but its not mandatory to go to them or discussions. Hw is not taken for credit. She gives extra credit in her lectures. Lowest quiz and worst midterm is dropped. I didn't go to a single class or discussion and passed with a B. Theres better professors out there but she's not bad, just kinda dry.

Its hard concentrating in class especially since she can be quite dry when it comes to lectures. It gets boring so its really important to go to class and discussion because they will help you prepare for quizzes that are every 2 weeks and for the 3 midterms in the class. She cares deeply about econ, and its her passion. Take the classes seriously.

Her teaching is dry because of how old she is and the TA's she has are terrible. Only has Lecture Captures and I barely used the book that I paid $100. Only used it for homework, buy it used!! don't worry about the lauchpad, you don't need but you do need an i-clicker

Just show up to class and take notes. Attend discussions and you will pass easily. I didn't have to study that much because I paid attention in class. It's all common sense if you don't think too much about it. Professor notes are very helpful because it reflects exam and quizzes w/ her examples. Only skimmed some parts of the book; rarely ever use

She was a fantastic professor. Definitely enjoyed her class the most this semester. HAVE to attend lecture in order to pass class. She literally writes out the notes and her tests are very similar to the examples she gives in class. Never went to discussion and passed w/ A. Also gives a curve which helps greatly.

She was a good professor! I didn't buy the book, went to discussion only 3 times (but my T.A was nice helpful whenever I needed her) and still did good in her class. The reason is because i went to lecture everyday!!! ATTENDANCE HOW WELL YOU DO. the quizzes and exams are easy with minimal studying if you attend and thoroughly take note/listen.

She's very nice and is willing to go slow if you don't understand something. However, if you don't show up to a lecture, you will miss a bunch of things, and she only reviews it for a minute or two and moves on. The TAs are especially helpful if we don't get something, and if you study enough for the quizzes/exams, could get at least a B.

Evelyn is an awesome teacher. She writes the notes out, but goes at a good pace. You HAVE TO GO TO CLASS, in order to pass!! The T.A was great too. I recommend taking her!

Boring person. Lectures consist of her writing on pre-outlined paper which you will only see in lectures. "If" you go to class but still don't understand, the TA was awesome and cleared everything up. drops lowest midterm and lowest quiz grade. midterms multiple choice and quizzes short answer. Hard tests. Massive curve at the end. 62% B

Shes i guess a decent professor and TRIES to be clear about all of her lectures. But honestly she writes her notes by hand and shes all over the place with stuff. Econ is not an interesting class, my TA really helped clear stuff up for midterms and quizzes.

ECON 130 DO NOT BUY THE BOOK. All the notes you need she will give you in class. Nevered used my book which i payed 170. Her exams are easy except the final which was tricky. overall, if you want an A, go to every class and take the notes!

Evelyn Lehrer. She is one of the best professors at uic. You can tell she has a passion for economics. She is crystal clear. The class is fairly easy as long as you go to class and take good notes. To study for the tests al you gotta do is look over your notes. Dont need a textbook. Ended up with an A+ in the class. Now i am an econ major at uiuc.
