Learned almost nothing from him, he would gave us a set of question to try and gives us maybe ten mins after not teaching us how to answer it. He expects us to be experts at the problem and this he treat us as idiots who knows nothing. That's because he doesn't give us enough time to understand

This was my second time taking stats and my first time with this professor. I regret taking him because he wasn't available for help and didn't provide feedback when asked for it. I have a B right now but that was because I had my notes from the last time I took the course. Very unclear during class and made it more confusing for me overall.

Go to every class read the online book and study about 10-16 hours per test (2 hours per chapter) and then you'll be fine. He curves about 10-15 points per test and I'd say he curved the final by at least 20. The class was tough but if you work hard ask questions and LEARN HOW TO USE THE CALCULATOR then you'll do fine. I ended with a B+

I don't understand why CCSU doesn't hire at least 1 other actuarial professor- really, is that too much to ask for?? Anyways, one thing I like about Bensics is that he uses an online book. However, he will not use alot of the techniques in the book, making it confusing. Over all, he's confusing and eccentric. Brace yourself actuary majors.

If your an actuarial science major like me and trying to become an actuary, he is the only teacher. Best way to learn is to take notes and do practice problems from the online book, look for online video lectures, and treat the class as supplementary. Tests are open note and heavily curved. Choose 10 out of 15 problems, get about 5 right to get a C

Why is there only one professor teaching this class? Horrible teacher with no sense of direction. Exams are open notes but difficult.

Mr. Bensic is just an average Joe, but dirty and stressed. he should be in a math lab , not in a college room. However, he is cool, caring and try to explians as much as he can . If you are looking to pass your math based class with ease, and u can work independently, He is your man.

Very good person and kind harted, but does not show interest in teaching. His knowledge is beyond our reach but does not represent or explains that due to laziness.

He is very boring and very socially awkward. Most of his classes he give multiple choice tests (except for Actl 466) All tests are open book and except for the finals, they all have a take home component. I rarely go to class and I have always passed the class with at least a C.

He has a very well paced class and your grade is based upon 3 take homehomework assignments that are about 12 problems each and three tests that are about 7 questions each.

I failed this class before - I took it with someone else. He was amazing. I asked dozens of questions in class because math has always been confusing for me. He was patient and helpful. Open book, open notes test - THANK GOD!! also bring your TI calculators to class, it can do wonders.
