Professor Laughlin has got to be the best professor I've had in my five years in UCSC as an undergraduate student. Order of magnitude astrophysics as a topic is inherently vague and difficult at times, but Professor Laughlin's humor and insight makes the subject all the more interesting and enjoyable.

Very cool guy and an easy class (it was just one credit). He did make me interested in the material and is good with visual learners. I do recommend him. He also has a good sense of humor

He explains things very well and is always willing to go the extra mile to help students understand the material. He holds a special section (Office Hours) that help students better understand the material. The office hours were more helpful than the sections. He's funny too. Test are multiple choice and not too hard.

I took his 1 credit Future of the Universe course. Just one paper, no tests. Easy A, but please keep in mind that this was a 1 credit course. He is very interesting and knowledgable. Pretty funny too! :)

very animated and intresting teacher. he taught me more about the universe then i thought we even knew, and i would specifically recomend his huture of the universe class. it was my favorite class with absolutly no homework

Very very enthusiastic and helpful; obviously interested in teaching us about astronomy and encouraging us to question the future of the universe. It would be impossible to fall asleep in this class!
