Easiest class I've ever taken. There were 3 or 4 exams and a few papers. Easy easy A if you do your work and pay attention! I didn't read Macbeth and did fine on that section of the class.

This was by far the easiest class I have ever taken. It was also nice that it was online. The only books you have to get are like two novels that are cheap you could just rent. The only "real homework" was to post to a discussion board every week, which was an easy A. As long as you do everything and submit on time, you will get an A.

The class itself was not difficult, but I don't feel like she even cared about the class. She complains about her students to their faces on how they don't do their work, yet she always left due dates open-ended and was SO late on grading papers herself. Her discussions are bland; I left the class feeling like I'd learned nothing new or exciting.

She is a great Professor! She can be a little air headed here and there, but she really does care about her students. She will give you a massive load of papers to do, but she will also give you more than enough time to finish it.

This class was online for me so there was a lot of papers and discussion. Most of the time you wrote three 1000 word papers each week and you have to use quotes and citations in your paper. She's a pretty fair grader. The class isn't hard, it's just time-consuming.

Dr. Powers means well and she tries to be funny, but she's just not. She is extremely unorganized and most of the assignments are explained in an extremely confusing manner. I definitely suggest making a friend in the class to help sort through what she's talking about. The class itself is extremely easy though.

Dr. Powers is really nice. She has the potential to be a very good teacher. not hard at all and doesn't give any tests. she also doesn't use moodle or d2l. she doesn't judge you because she said she was picked on for what she wore when she was younger. sometimes she can be confusing but if you ask she helps. also we used the book like twice

I highly recommend Dr. Powers for any english class that you can possibly take with her, not just because her class is easy, but she is also a fun professor which is rare to find. She is very straight forward and will tell you if there is something wrong with a paper or any assignment and will help you correct what needs fixed.

Our class seemed to be a self-mediated therapy session for Powers. She'd relate each subject we talked about to previous co-workers, bullies, etc. and would go off on a tangent. The class was so incredibly easy- show up and pass. Assignments were confusing because of her disorganization but overall an enjoyable class w an oddball and fun prof.

Dr. Powers is a hot mess. I find her to be judgmental and rude. Her class is tolerable if you're willing to ask questions and insist that she give clear requirements for assignments, but it'll be a struggle.

Dr. Powers is without a doubt my favorite professor at IUP. I found this class to be interesting and challenging at the same time. Dr. Powers is not going to hold your hand and guide you because you're in college--she will always help you if need be. If you need concrete instructions and hand holding don't take this class.

I loved Dr. Powers class. She was always having fun with the class, and we all thoroughly enjoyed the class. She is goofy, which is a good thing when it comes to these kind of classes, and an overall good time in class. Would take again just for the fun factor alone!!!

Dr. Powers is a little goofy, but sometimes she is very funny. I like that she has unusual interests and is not afraid to say so--she also doesn't go on about them so that people who aren't interested die of boredom. Her lectures are very interesting too, but sometimes can be very vague--Wikipedia very useful for some of the terms. Fun class.

I agree...she is terrible! She doesn't grade anything, and is unreliable when it comes to anything important; she is extremely unprofessional. It seems like she likes the idea of teaching, but doesn't really want to do it

DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS! She is extremely unprofessional; she is a mess! She also dresses like she belongs on What Not To Wear. She never gives clear directions and doesn't know how to grade. Whatever you do, don't take her class! If you do take it, I suggest you drop out or switch profs b/c it will be a long semester with this woman.
