Comment:

Helen Hook made what could have been a very interesting class-disastrous. She doesn't look upon her students as adults, and is extremely biased. Her papers are all responses, so learn to agree with her every word (because that's the only way you will get an A). She once yelled at a student for looking at his/her phone after class has ended.

She has her favorites, and if she doesn't like you for some reason (usually if you're just taking the course to fulfill diversity requirement), she'll undermine your work and your grade. She refuses to examine alternative points of view or admit that she's wrong. She'll try to berate you for challenging her. Stay very far away.

No1 likes her. Very condesending. Penalizes a student if they sign a word they learned in sign1 differently. Claims you made up that sign although others vow they learned it the same way. Very RUDE and STRICK about her rules. Has an attitude problem that prevents her from teaching effectivly. Talks down 2 students ADVICE: Take Sign 2 w/ SOME 1 ELSE

She's anal with a capital A when it comes to her rules! She's very easy though, all the work she gives is basically busy work, and the 1-2 page papers are extremely easy. Tells you exactly what's going to be on the quizzes, and you don't have to take the final if you have like a 94 average or something, which no one should have a problem getting!

This woman is unbelieveable . If you are looking for an easy class then this is one that you should take . However she is a very rude individual, has no concern about the students . Her lateness policy is ridiculous . She acts like a babysitter . She puts in a movie and leaves the classroom for the whole time. But its an easy class.

This class is so easy! She's really wierd though! If you show up a second late, she marks it and she takes off of your participation grade if you have a cellphoone in class (even if you don't use it)! Even though he's a little crazy, the class is really interesting and expremely easy! It's practically a given A!

this class was soooo easy. she makes it really hard to fail and it was actually pretty interesting. shes very understanding and willing to help u out, u can take the final in any section so it fits ur schedule and u r rarely in class the full time! take this class.

Easy class..tells you what quizzes are, 4 1-2 page papers, and a lot of study guides, but they are pretty easy to bs and you are rarely there for the whole time..that aside she's kind of weird and annoying and there are going to be 3 kids in your class that will talk all the time and get all the credit for the class participation

I thought she was great. Shes so organized and tells you exactly whats on every quiz. She basically feeds you them. She gives lots of little assignments but theyre all so quick and easy. Lots of extra credit too. I learned alot and its a guaranteed A. She's great :)

Nice person, dedicated. Interesting history gives dimension to the classroom. Easy course. Gets frustrated with immature, chatty, lazy undergrads. Classes are mostly women, kind of ditzy types.......oh well, what can you expect?

She's a nice teacher but she seems strict when it comes to handing in paper work, if your 3 min. late to class she won't take your paper no matter what, so it would be no point in doing it in the first place. The test are easy, exactly what she gives you to review.she's always nervous. 2 much notes!

This teacher is a complete mess. She dresses completely inappropriately and it kind of makes me sick. She also does not care to make adjustments or any type of negotiation with students no matter what the terms. She is nervous around the class, and makes the students feel the same way.
