I took him for EC1 and all I can say is he is such a great professor. He is very clear on assignments, gives four question quizzes on readings that are given on the syllabus, but definitely have to read and annotate well because his questions are unpredictable. Overall he keeps the class entertained and is very understanding and caring. TAKE HIM!

This professor knows how to keep the class entertained. He's funny, cool, and a overall nice guy. Every week I receive homework for readings or writing tasks but nothing too much to handle. During class, he explains our readings well and easy to understand. Not a hard class if you do what you are told and pay attention.

Took him for English Comp I and he's very interesting. His lectures are always passionate and inspirational. Always draws relevance and interest. A couple of easy 2-3 page essays that aren't rocket science. He has weekly quizzes with 4-5 easy questions that go hand in hand with the readings. The class and work arent hard at all.

Professor Broderick is a great mentor to me. His classes are entertaining and you'll learn if you do your weekly readings for weekly quizzes. Despite the quiz questions being a bit unpredictable, you can make them up and reread your chapters before the semester finale make-up quiz day. Your essays must be on point as well. My grades: B+, A-

The term "best professor ever!!1" gets thrown out often here, but in this case, it's actually true. The man has a sense of humor, knows what he's talking about, is extremely helpful and just a good overall person. If you can take his classes, do so, it's a wonderful experience.

Dr. Broderick is a mentor to me. To this day I still speak with him and he has helped me so much. I'm teaching English in South Korea for the time being and he was more than kind enough to give letters of recommendation. Jim cares about his classes and his students, period. Be a good student and you can't go wrong with him.

Thanks for a wonderful learning experience Dr. Broderick. You are a great professor. NJCU should have more teachers like you. I really didnt want to take a Literature class if I didnt have to. You made the class interesting and fun. We all left class believing in the transformative power of words. The A I received didnt hurt either!
