Dr. P. is possibly my new favorite teacher at Xavier. The guy knows his stuff and has been teaching for a long time. This class is critical for participating in the capital fund, and he teaches everything you could need to know for the basics of company valuation. Just make sure to attend class, or you won't know what to do on the project or tests.

As long as you turn in all your assignments you will get an A in the class. Says missing class will drop your grade but he doesn't even know everyone in the class. Take him if you want an A on your transcript.

As stated, only two tests (no homework), which are manageable if you take good notes and pay attention. Lectures are solid without a lot of filler and he actually uses the board instead of relying on PowerPoint, which is a nice change of pace. You can tell he really loves finance.

2 tests, 50% each, as some other rater said, however, 90% of the test content is *straight* out of the lecture notes. The rest is commenting on required reading articles. Offers a very thorough, helpful review session prior to the test and sample exams! Bottom line: take good notes, work sample problems, read the articles, and you should do well.

2 Tests. No homework, no papers, no participation, no extra credit - so if you do poorly on the tests, you're screwed. Even if you do attend, study and do the (optional / non graded) homework you have no idea what will be on the tests... And you have to put EXACTLY what he wants.

He has a good sense of humor, but I found his lectures disjointed and difficult to follow. He comes into class and just starts charging ahead without giving a high level overview of where we are and where we are going. Very frustrating.

Very funny guy. Seems to really enjoy teaching and makes concepts really easy to understand. I learned the most from doing the homework. Tests aren't horribly hard but he'll try to scare you into thinking they are impossible. I would take him again.
