Class was not the easiest but definitely manageable. I never did the hw because we just went through all of the problems the next day in class. Make sure you know how to do all hw problems for exams and never miss a class. If you understand all of the hw problems you will do fine.

This class was not easy but is manageable. Homework not mandatory. Grade based on two exams plus the final. Only need to know what is covered in class.

There's probably an easier teacher for 321 but Smith honestly isn't that bad. To study for the exams just make sure you can do all the big homework problems he went over in class because the test is just problems and he grades for partial credit. No MC questions. Don't miss a class because it'll set you behind. Didn't really read the book. No scale

His exams are not easy, no mutiple choices, all problems and it is not like the homeworks; however, if you attend his classes, you will be fine. Basically, he only test whichever he covers his classes, and his grading is fair. Not a easy class, but if you do all the homework, and keep practicing. You can earn a good grade.

He's very smart, but for a basic level class he's not great at helping you understand concepts. He talks in a circle and unless you've taken accounting in HS you'll have to teach yourself most of the work through his homework.

Very nice and helpful professor. Doing homework problems is essential and critical to excel on his exams. He sometimes does not fully agree with the textbook and tweaks some concepts. So missing class will give a bad mojo. Bottom line is that do chapter problems above and beyond the requirements and go to class prepared. Then it's a guaranteed A.

Took this class online. Professor is not as involved as he should be. Mistakenly took a quiz down too early and was not available over weekend while students panicked. Quiz results were available to some but not others for exam reference. HW is not graded and found that it was not helpful for exams. Not impressed.

He is a very nice guy. When answering a question, he can sometimes just not answer at all and ask something different and your question will never be answered. He is very flexible with homework and the tests do take a while to complete. This class was okay but I would recommend taking it with someone else.

Prof Smith is a really nice, laid back guy. Doesn't care if you come to class and is real flexible about homework assignments. As far as his tests are concerned, if you can do the homework problems that he assigns for class than you will most likely do well on the exams.

This guy was horrid. He could not teach or explain anything. I spent all my time learning by reading the book, which is close to impossible because the book is terrible. Overall, I wish I had taken it with Taub. Don't waste your time with this guy. Everyone just thinks he's chill because he's a hippy.

Awesomer professor! My favorite class so far at UMass. Very good at answering questions and making concepts understandable. Homework is handed in but not graded for correctness and testing is very fair. Take Honors if you can!
