Comment:

I took Dr. Wood for advanced educational psychology. The course requirements included lots of psychology research methods that I was unfamiliar with as a middle school teacher. Dr. Wood spent hours online and by phone conversations helping me to understand any area I struggled with. He is one of the best online instructors I have had at PSU.

Inconsistency, lack of supplementary material, and rely solely on one textbook for the entirety of the course. I'm sure having a class on campus would be different but I would not recommend an online course from this instructor.

He is a big statistic guy. Sometimes I felt what he was lecturing was his own opinion. His test questions can make no sense. He also will give random quizes for extra credit during class.

HORRIBLE professor. Nice guy but very unorganized and the tests make no sense. The highest score on the first test was an 80% in the entire class. Does not test over what we talk about and goes off on random confusing tangents during lecture. Do not miss class or you will not get crucial points on random pop quizzes.

Dr. Wood's Research Method's I class is easy, but only if you're good at math. He understands the material himself; however, his explanation of things is a little confusing. It took him forever to cover the material. His tests were easy, and he gave good study sessions. He is EXTREMELY unorganized, and it doesn't help his teaching.

I'm a transfer student this year and I'm majoring in psychology. Out of all the teachers I had this semester, Dr. Wood is by far my favorite. He's realistic and wants to see his students succeed. He's helpful and cracks some corny jokes, but hey it livens the class up. Show up after a test because you're likely to get extra credit points on it.

Very easy and straightforward class. The semester I had it Dr. Wood had tutoring times for the class to review for the upcoming exam. Complete the problems in the chapters and you'll find the homework to be much easier.

Class is very easy. No homework but occasional short quizzes over material covered in previous lecture. Sometimes gives extra points to students who attend class later in the semester. Reviews before every test. Tests don't take very long. Material is covered at a slow pace. Pay attention and take notes during class and you don't need the book.

Dr.Wood is a very fair professor. He's very helpful and will help a student anyway he can. He wants all his students to receive a good grade. He reviews test questions before the test. The study guide is a no-nonsense guide, meaning all the questions on the guide will be on the test.

Strictly lecture, random attendance credit or a few pop quizzes worth no more then 5 points. so BORING and monotone, uses powerpoints to talk from, study for test- not notes allowed. ALWAYS go to the class after an exam, major extra credit avaliable. He is nice, and crack jokes but not an easy class.

Amazing teacher! Nice friendly and knows what he's talking about. And if you miss or need help and you stuck with the appointments you make he's even more helpful. Definately will be taking more classes and recommending to people!

I have taken Dr. Wood for several courses and he always does a good job. In this class he was excellent. His real world experiences helped us easily comprehend the meaning of laws for school psychs. I left the class feeling very well informed in this area.

Took research from him, he is extremely nice and helpful but he is not familiar with the material enough to teach it, makes several mistakes. Half the class he talks about something illrelated to stats, but it is an easy class. He covers material VERY slowly. If you are really interested in learning statistics take it from the math dept.

dr. wood is maybe the nicest guy in the world, wants to be sure everyone likes him, and more importantly that everyone understands the material. will tutor you anytime if you don't get it, but you probably will if you pay attention in class, he takes things at a pretty slow pace. he's a little spacy, but still, highly recommended!
