Comment:
Luttropp is tough and he expects a lot from you, but everything he does has a motive. He doesnt assign anything that wont make us a better designer. Hes very helpful when giving feedback and is very clear about what he expects. Its really hard to get anything above a B, and thats a really good grade for him, but the critiques are very helpful.

Professor Luttropp is one of the best professors that I have had. You should take the criticisms that he gives you during critiques and apply them to your projects because he really does know what he is talking about. Because of his fun but challenging projects, I have become a better designer overall! I look forward to the next class with him!

Doesnt have an understanding of our perspective of things. He doesnt listen to students who really need help. Doesnt grade higher than a B on assignments. Pays more attention to the experts in the class and not the beginners.

One of the only history classes I can say were interesting. His power points are really well-made and get you engaged! Quizzes every week, so you gotta read! You'll be doing sketch notes, so don't bring in your laptop! He gets you doing a Photoshop assignment instead of a final exam, which was fun to make. DEFINITELY take this class if you can!

Like other people said, come into his classes SERIOUS about graphic design. He looks at effort and detail that you put into projects. RESEARCH is key. I thought his feedback was excellent. He's very knowledgeable. However, I felt like he crammed too many assignments into a short amount of time. Make sure to make room in your schedule for his class!

Hard grader, if you want an A, don't expect it. He'll always give you less than a 89 and some RARE occasions higher Always smiling, don't look at this as a positive but as a negative, he hides behind that FAKE smile A LOT OF HW, seriously, why? he will give you SO much homework that you want to tear your hair out GOOD LUCK if you take it

Excellent professor. If you're serious about graphic design, taking his class is a must. Beginner I is a lot of work and sometimes I wonder if he realizes that we take other classes, but it's for your own benefit. You learn so much in such a short period of time. Very experienced and knowledgable in design. Definitely take him!

One of the best professors I ever had. His beginning GD class is intentionally hard but because he wants only the students who are really interested in GD to continue to other courses. He is very knowledgeable on music, film, anything so take advantage of that. If you love Design, pay attention to detail and work hard, his classes are EASY.

This class is serious work. It gives you a general idea of what the graphic design field expects from designers. The deadlines and projects are strict, must follow instructions to the 'T', and because he is the director for the Graphic Design program he is all work and no play until near the end of the semester. Must take this class seriously.

One of the best professors you will encounter at MSU. Very Experienced, knows his field. Will make your work better through his imput and guidance. However, be prepared to work - alot; the beginner class is a "design gauntlet" set up to weed-out those who are not serious about the field.

He is a fun, jolly guy, but is very tough. He teaches as if this is the only class we are enrolled in. He doesn't realize the workload he gives us is overwhelming. And this is a beginner class..If this is not your major, don't take this class. Overall, it's a good learning experience for those who want to be GD majors.

He is definitely tough, he assigns a ton of work, multiple things due on the same day but his process really works. If you are going into this field it is a must. He expects a lot but that pushes you to do your best, I have gotten some great portfolio pieces already and its not over yet. Graphic Designers need to take him!
