Dr Miga is very knowledgeable in SWK and likes when students engage in class discussion. Do your definitions. Semi study for your weekly quizzes and do the extra credit he gives and you will pass. This is a three hour class but it will be a ease to have compared to others where their coarse load is heavy.

I had Dr. Miga for all three social work classes & I wouldn't want it any other way! He has a great sense of humor & honesty wants you to pass! He is very helpful at answering any of your questions so you can understand what he's talking about so make sure your asking them. Participate & go to class, study for the tests and you'll pass the classes!

Mr Miga is a phenomenal teacher. He teaches so that you can use what you learn in the real world. His test are usually question that require you to apply what was taught to you. If you want to actual learn and get challenged take him.

Professor Miga is a great teacher. I am very glad I had him for my social work class. I worked my butt off for this class but in the end it was worth it. He is very helpful and makes class fun; lets the class make corrections on tests. It may be hard but not impossible. I got an A and if you put in the work you can too! Definitely recommend!

Great instructor if your try looking to learn! Don't expect to be spoon feed. He is very helpful but not in that way. I've taken John several times and he is very intelligent! Read the book, take notes, and show up for class and you'll do fine.

Miga as honest and clear about what you will be experiencing going into Social Work. He wants to give you a good grade, tells you exactly what will be on the test, clearly goes over it in class, and gives opportunities for extra credit. Read the chapters, and you'll get an A. He's funny and caring, and will even mentor you for next semester.

AMAZING TEACHER, Mr. Miga is very helpful. This class you do have to use your book, and go to class to understand but if you do you will get an A. I loved this class. It was never boring, he has a great sense of humor and kept the class really interesting. Definitely would recommend any of his classes.

Here's the thing with people not liking him. He consistently offered to meet after class to discuss lecture material for tests. If you take him up on that offer, you will learn. He is a great professor. We need to remember that if we want to work in Social Work, then we should put forth the effort to read and learn. I recommend him!!

He is an AMAZING teacher!! I am currently staying at Owens just to take the rest of my swk classes with him. He is a no nonsense teacher but he knows his stuff. He's willing to help if you ask. He works right from the book but the tests are kinda hard. His lectures are interesting.Come to class and read the text you'll do just fine!

The problem I had with this teacher is that his lectures ar not from the book! Test are very hard nobody passes them with A's study the book and read the chapters. He is not very nice. Nor helpful in the intro class. By the end of the term he lightened up a bit. Study and u will pass his class. The grades only from the test! Good luck!

gave me my ONLY "C" in my college career in intro to swk. i didn't deserve it, which is why i'm bitter, he tries to weed people out and that's why I rc'd my 'c'. ugh. now that i have that out of the way. he is a great teacher, he challenges you, he's sarcastic funny, not rude or mean as some people mistake him for, he is good at his job, period!
