Rest in Peace 01/29/13.John was always helpful, always available, and always went out of his way to help. He was the kind of colleague who actually assigned himself to work at the Northpointe campus because he wouldn’t assign one of his colleagues to a difficult job that he hadn’t done himself. A great Professor and man.

He is a nice person to have a casual conversation with, but as a teacher it is a completely different story. He treats everybody like their stupid and expects you to know everything. Don't even bother asking this guy for help. he picks favorites with people. It annoyed me more than anything!

Oh my god!! He is the most perfect professor ever in my life. I don't have any science interest and knowledge but I got A lecture and lab!! He is very very detail and he always tries to figure out to good way.. Just take him!!!!!

Took Kupchella spring semester, had to drop it. Took Woolcock over the summer, got an A. Extra credit. If you do HW & study the notes you're golden. He doesn't try & trick you. Uses problems from book/hw on exam. Notecard for each exam. I wish he was teaching my Chem 102. Went from HATING chem to liking it. TAKE HIM if you have the chance!!

I took Woolcock over summer. Woolcock is: crystal clear, gives plenty of feed back on your grades, extremely polite and nice, and goes the extra mile to help his students. The only thing I didn't care for was that the course was pretty fast paced (a good thing for some, not for me). I ended up with a B.

I made the mistake of waiting to long to register for classes, and CHEM was the only LS science class available, I was dreading it. But, he actually made it very enjoyable, and I learned a ton from him. He is extremely polite and patient, and gives chances to earn points, even if you just don't get chemistry. I just wish this was a lab science.

He is a wonderful teacher! explains very well and easy to understand. Lots of chances to get bonus and it is almost impossible to get a bad grade with him unless you are a complete slacker and did nothing. He is very helpful when you need something and always has a smile on his face! I would definitely take him again!

cool guy just go to class and you will be fine. Does give alot of work but its not hard to do your going to need the book. alot of ec, and shows CSI a lot. Lets you use an index card to put down facts for all of the text. can use the final to drop your worst test grade. would take him again.

This guy is so nice. He is extremely smart and is good at 'dumbing it down' for his 101 class. All you need to do is go to class and do the homework and the in-class activities. He even gives you points for asking questions during class or by email. I reccommend Dr. Woolcock for anyone.

this guy was the best prof. i ever had... and i am at school # 3!! i was sooo afraid of taking chem, but he made it so easy! he was soo helpful and if you studied you got a good grade. i didnt even have to take the final b/c my grade was already an A.

By far the BEST chem teacher in the world! He hands out a copy of the notes for every chapter & that's where the tests come from. u do activities in class & he gives the answers. if you write them down, you get points. VERY helpful. chemistry is hard for me & i got an A with very little effort. Study the notes and u'll ace this class. TAKE HIM!!!!

Dr. Woolcock is a great teacher. He helped me countless times in office hours and even in his office when he didn't have office hours. I ended up taking Chem 2 at Pitt and from the reviews of the other chem professors at IUP, I think I made the right decision. I would highly recommend Dr. Woolcock.

Woolcock drove me crazy because it feels like he's teaching elementary school kids. He feels the need to explain every little thing when most people have had a base in chem in high school. Very boring but very easy. I don't know if I'd make myself sit through his class again if I had the choice.
