Comment:
I took his Caribbean History course. Dorsey is a very intelligent man. However, this did not always translate well to the students. His grading was inaccurate and he usually took a month or two to return papers/tests. Though disorganized, I learned a lot in his class. Not my cup of tea, but still an interesting class.

I had him for Caribbean history and he was so incredibly absent minded. I haven't learned a thing about the subject. He spent 2 weeks having us watch a ridiculous miniseries (with no real relation to the class). Sometimes he just has discuss what we've learned in class or in our readings. It's annoying for someone who WANTS to learn.

I enjoyed Prof. Dorsey's course very much. I thought the films were relevant to the topic and he was very open to questions and discussion. Very friendly and caring about his students. I wish I could have taken more of his courses prior to graduating.

Nice guy. Shows videos with graphic sex scenes. Who wouldn't want to watch a movie like that with a guy that looks like Morgan Freeman??

This class was a train wreck from start to finish. On the first day, the professor could not find the class room. We watched films that basically had a slight connection to the topic, then tested on vague topics from those films. The TA's were all on a different grading scale, and prof never intervened. I would suggest steering clear.

I have taken almost every class Dr. Dorsey has taught since he's been on this campus. He is one of my favorite professors, my truest mentor and a spiritual father to me. He's illustrious and eternally radiant to my mind's eye.
