Spanbauer is the best there is for both teaching you how to succeed in law school and for Contracts. She truly guides you the whole way and makes it clear what she expects from you. Contracts is a boring and difficult subject, but she tries her best every day to make sure you'll succeed.

Spanbauer is the BEST Contracts (I & II) Professor at JMLS. No one even remotely compares. She is also super willing to help her students outside of class time and will meet with you any time you need extra help. She is very easy to talk to. She cold calls randomly so you must read! She will make sure you know everything about Contracts though.

Professor Spanbauer was probably my favorite professor last semester. She is very clear on what she wants and gives tons of assignments beforehand that are great practice for the final. She calls on people so do your reading and her powerpoint have all the info you will need for the exams. MAKE SURE TO USE HER RULES FROM PRACTICE ESSAYS.

Fantastic teacher! Very prepared and organized does everything she can to help you understand the material. Takes to heart any suggestions you may have that will help you learn and does not mind reexplaining or rephrasing anything. You can tell she loves contracts and is honestly just a very smart person over all . TAKE HER!

Professor Spanbauer is always early and very well prepared for every class. She calls on students to explain cases and takes attendance but she also provides power points of all cases and the end of each week. She will also make herself available for meetings and is truly invested in her students learning the material. A great teacher.

Prof. Spanbauer is AWESOME. Any person who gives her a bad rating must be just a bad student or just not very intelligent. She is clear, extremely helpful, very kind and just a great all around person. Pay attention and study, and you can get an A for sure. Her tests are tough but fair. A+++ professor. If you can take her classes, do so.

Class was well organized and structured. Prof. Spanbauer could be cold and stiff in class, but was incredibly supportive and helpful in office hours. Gives a midterm but both that and final seemed fair. Don't need to memorize the restatements or UCC. Calls on people randomly, but sticks to syllabus. Amazingly helpful and patient in office hours.

Great Professor. Whoever gave her bad ratings did poorly on her final. It was extremely fair if you outline and pay attention in class. She DOES NOT look down on her students. Always willing to help. Maybe the person below who said that should have gone for help and not been in their own little shell of a world.

Just alright. Final was pretty straightforward. My main complaint is that she talks down to her students, acts like they are stupid for asking questions, even rolls her eyes. It made me just want to sit there silently and take no interest aside from when I was called on.

I may be bitter because my grade was lower than expected. The exam is essay/multiple choice. I wouldn't say that it is hard, but 75% of the class is discussion of the facts, which doesn't help much when she expects you to memorize the restatement for the exam. MEMORIZE the restatement and UCC and you will get an A.

Easy on the eyes? Please! She takes all her handout notes from the teacher's manual. If you can get a copy of that you'll shine both in-class and on the exam. Test is not easy otherwise. Be warned-she expects too much in terms of intuitive knowledge you may not have from Contracts I! Not recommended.

Contracts 1 & 2. Make sure that you go to class and take notes. Final is not open note, but if you literally memorize the slides and the review handout at the end of the semester you will get an A. Probably one of the best profs at jmls. Lots of handouts, and always willing to help you learn. Plus, she's very easy on the eyes!

She is very helpful and clear inside and outside of class. She is passionate about the subject and wants you to succeed. The exam is challenging, but fair (similar to bar exam material, unlike some other professors). Highly suggested.

Contracts I. Most thorough instructor I've ever had. Lots of supplemental handouts of sample questions with sample answers so that you know exactly what she expects of you. My grade had more to do with my computer crashing during my final than with the quality of her instruction. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to any incoming student.
