Professor Peirce is the best poetry professor at Texas State. I am not pursuing poetry as a career, but she really helped me improve my poetry. She is in the top 10 professors at Texas State, by far. She loves her students dearly and is committed to helping them succeed. It is not an easy class, but it is definitely worth it.

It's been over 18 years since I took Kathleen's class. She's still one of my all-time favorite professors. If you show an interest she will go out of her way to coach you. Remember that you are the student. Pressure refines and challenges you to be your best. You have to master the rules before you will know when it is ok to break them.

If you want a teacher who is a wonderful person and loves what she does, take Peirce. If you care about your GPA, maybe you shouldn't. She is not an objective grader and she is unclear about her expectations. But her personality is fantastic. So weigh what's most important to you. I'm glad I took her class, but I won't take her again.

She is WONDERFUL! And has the most beautiful eyes on the planet, if that matters. She is wise, and will gladly spend time coaching her students. I'm not sure what the manipulative comment was about...sounds like someone is mad over a grade. Take her class. She's brilliant! Read her books, too!

Intelligent, kind, creative, and passionate about her art-- The most profound teacher I ever had and one of the most knowledgeable.
