I took math 380 and calc 2 with johnson and he's the best math teacher I have had so far. He may be a little pushy on the quizzes but if you want to actually learn the information in the class, he is the teacher for you.

As long as you attend class and pay attention, this class should be a piece of cake. He explains the material very well and goes through each problem efficiently and is always happy to answer any questions. I highly recommend him for this class.

Dr. Johnson is a wonderful asset to the mathematics and cs department at Indiana State. He teaches with clarity, accuracy, and intellect. There are 40 quizzes for both Calc I and II, and they each account for 1.3% to 1.7% of your grade, and they are easy if you attend class and do your homework. The midterms are easy, but the finals are tough.

I really really liked Dr. Johnson. I'm not that great at Calculus (got a 1 on the AP Test senior year). Naturally, I was really nervous going into it again. This class was cake. Truly. I didn't use the book once, a waste of almost $100. Important: show up everyday, take the easy quiz, study for the two exams. I got an A- and putforth little effort.

Took calc in high school, this teacher made it much easier to get. if u can stand a super easy quiz almost everyday then this is a great class, teacher is very easy and helpful. final was the hardest part of the class, but I didn't study very much. all tests are from the quizzes and he gives u a copy of the right answers.

Great Prof. makes Cal seem easy and very understandable. Attendence is mandatory because he gives quizes nearly every class, but they are very straight forward and most of them time you worked the same questions the prier day in class

Summer 2001-Calc2: Great prof. Extremelly bright.Explains things well.Doesn't waste time.Gives pop quizzes often so attendance is a must.To do well you must go to class and do assignments.You will learn a lot in his classes.Kind and helpful.

I'm horrible in math, but he taught Calculus in ways I understood it. He doesn't go too quickly on the material, and does lots of examples. Quizes are usually easy and help your grade (quizes daily). Final was extremely hard though, which I don't think anyone expected. Very nice guy personally, he seems lonely and without friends though... :(

if you have to take calculus..take him!!! I was terrified of the thought of having to take calc..but he makes it soooo easy! really..take him. he is an excellent teacher. lots of quizzes, but if you just go to class and pay attention, it is an easy A or B. the average on every exam so far has been in the 80s. take him! :)

Best math professor in the department. Brilliant individual. Had him for calc 1 and 2, and thought he was an awesome teacher. I wish I could take all my math classes from him. He explained everything VERY well. Made difficult material easy to understand. Eccentric and seems a bit lonely, but I liked him a lot. Funny, too. RECOMMENDED!!!

I have NEVER been able to understand Math. I had to take it for a third time here at ISU because i'd have horrible profs during previous semesters. Dr. Johnson is awesome. You'd think he was the author of "Algebra for Dummies". He got me to understand it, which says a lot. Grade is based off of quizes, midterm, and final.
