This class is not easy as it is different from typical Comm courses. The tests can be hard but the presentation and webpage brought up my grade. Worth taking.

horrible. She provided little help to students, and clearly doesnt care about their overall learning. She gave three quizzes and one project. She told our class that shes never had a class do so poorly on quizzes before. Did not provide any encouragement. Does not make sense out of the content in slides, uses subheadings from text. Ridiculous.

Terrible professor. Completely inconsiderate of student opinions during class discussions, biased towards certain students. Very rude and sarcastic. Try getting help from her and she's useless ask her a question and she gives you the response "I talked about it in class" She has "quizzes" but they are actually 50 MC and Short Answer questions...

Comment:

Great professor. Clearly very intelligent and informed on the topic she teaches. Very impressed by teaching style as well. Having a lot of discussions helped stimulate more conversation, and more opinions came from the class, leading to more learning.

Hands down one of the most annoying professors i've ever had. She is extremely rude, sarcastic and inconsiderate. Constantly bashed our class and always told us everything we were doing wrong - not encouraging whatsoever. Use the textbook moderately in this class but in COMM 1300 she made us buy an $100 book that wasn't opened & unable to return.

Great class. I think differently about media and current events. Sometimes the lectures were long and there was definitely a lot of information in the class.

Clearly does not prepare for class besides making the slides, which are just headings and subheadings directly from the book. The lecture is her reading the slides. When she does elaborate, she will appear to make logical conclusions based on the info already given, but a lot of it is flat out wrong. Maybe she will step up when she's not dept head.

The powerpoints outlined very well the information for the course. I didn't know it was so easy to create a website. I think it is a good experience for everyone. Lots of videos, participation clicker questions, etc. Great integration of career and job options too -- I liked how she would bring that up almost every class.

The instructor was able to connect material taught to current news and modern examples to help students learn. The material is easy but her examples were clear and relatable which made it easier. class is an hour and 15 minutes long so it is hard for students to stay focused for that entire period.
