Do not take this class. The single most pointless course available. You would think a class talking about youtubers and fandoms would be an easy A, but even with studying she throws new material at you in the exams. Grade is based on 3 exams and 1 syllabus quiz.

Comment:

Solid professor, lectures are engaging as long as you try to pay attention. The study guides she puts together are FANTASTIC, just go through the material on those and you'll be fine. Highly recommend as a good intro course!

Comment:

Henderson is a great woman, but not a great professor. There are two tests, one quiz, and a final, with one chance for extra credit. Attendance not mandatory, but you should go to be safe. She rambles on A LOT and her wording doesn't make much sense.

Comment:

Professor Henderson is very passionate about what she teaches. She is a very sweet lady and truly seems to care about everyone in class. She remembers many students names. Attendance doesn't count, but your grade is basically composed of your midterm and final grade, as well as a syllabus quiz. If you study it's an easy A.

Comment:

Classic example of a tenured professor with no teaching skill whatsoever. Lisa is intelligent and dignified, but difficult to understand. She often goes off on oh-so-long tangents and leads the class away from the topic at hand. Suffering through this course was the low point of my freshman year. Only take it if you're a Comm major, save yourself.

She's really nice & I met with her a few times at her office hours. She definitely is always there to help you if you need. However, there were only exams and she doesn't believe in moodle credit such as homework or quizzes, so if you flunk the tests, you flunk the class. If you show up & take notes you should be fine. Tests are specific

Probably the most boring class I have taken . If you miss class you miss all the material , she doesn't post them on moodle. Exams are fairly easy but some studying is necessary. Also didn't get the textbook and did fine

Lisa somehow managed to make the dry content of comm 101 even dryer. She elaborated on concepts that did not need to be explained which in turn made the lectures boring, confusing, and tough to follow. It is an easy A, but you will not be inspired by Lisa's lectures.

Professor Henderson is a very sweet lady who has a very boring topic to lecture on and make interesting. She does a very good job of that but you MUST go to class to be able to get good grades on her exams. She has a lot of notes in powerpoints that she does not post on moodle. I genuinely enjoyed her teaching and she is very helpful.

Great teacher! Very interesting, clear, and informative. Clearly cares about subject and students. She was nominated for a distinguished teacher award this semester. Highly recommend taking her class!

Professor Henderson is a great person, but a horrible professor. She is very unclear on everything. I'm definitely failing this course for the semester. No matter how much work you put into this class, you will still be disappointed in your grade. Her lectures are the longest hour and 15 minutes of my life. Her notes (powerpoints) are useless.

this class is so boring that you will NEVER want to go and she doesn't take attendance sooooo you probably won't. her voice puts you to sleep, she rambles on, her slideshows are not concise (and she doesn't put them online). she means well and I've had worse professors but this class truly sucks, it would've have been much better with a good prof.

She goes through notes extremely slowly, making the class very very boring. Also uses extensive vocabulary, making it sometimes hard to understand her. As long as you take the notes and do the assigned textbook readings, the tests are fairly easy.

She is the hardest grader I ever had. It's as if she comes up with reasons to take points off. She holds extremely unrealistic expectations for the class and doesn't seem to understand that we are students with lives outside the classroom. She is very smart but it hinders her teaching.

I don't understand what everybody's talking about! I had Professor Henderson back in the 90s and she was one of the best professors I ever had--she really taught me how to write. One complaint though: she used to have a punk rocker girl look and now it looks like she's taken a trip to the Talbot's in Northampton! Sigh.

If you are planning to take this class, REMOVE YOURSELF IMMEDIATELY! It is the worst class i have ever taken. the lectures are so incomprehensibly boring and you will just fall asleep-trust me- i know from experience. the notes are terrible and the exams are hard.
