Great teacher, funny and interactive. Very knowledgeable about the subject. Teaches multiple calculus classes so it's possible to take him for 1 and 2 after one another and know get used to his style, which is a great style

Smart and nice fair on assigned homework and grades quizes moderately hard. TA I had and Getz were terrible to talk to each other and weren't on the same page leaving students confused. Wierd about helping with homework both didnt want to give answers and would go through 1 or 2 steps of a problem and never finished leaving them for "later".

Took his class and got an A. Wasn't an easy A since I had to work for it. Would have taken him again for calc 2 but my schedule didn't allow it. He's very animated in lecture and drops hints of what you'll be tested on like crazy. Don't buy the textbook. The problems are on your webassign code.

Getz is hands down the best math teacher I have ever had. He makes incredible use of the blackboard, his lectures are interesting, and he has a strange and amazing sense of humor. If you get the chance to take a class from him, DO IT

This class was a highlight of my semester! Getz is an incredible instructor! He's passionate about math and has excellent lectures. Attendance isn't mandatory, but I don't know of anyone who got a good grade without good attendance. He assigns a reasonable amount of homework. Exams can be hard, but he often gives partial credit.

He's the most adorable old man ever. He goes over a lot more stuff compared to some other math teachers. He gives out a lot of homework, but it's all worth it in the end. Just keep on top of your homework and ask for help!

Marty is one of a kind. I highly recommend him as a Math teacher. He is eccentric, but in an awesome way. You will be entertained while learning a lot. Best teacher I've ever had in college. He has a lot of little unique teaching tricks. You will be challenged, but if you complete the homeworks and study you will do fine. Choose this class.

Marty is a very unique person that is funny and fantastic at lecturing. He really makes you understand the material. However, he weights test and quizzes far more heavily than homework. Normally that's fine, but he puts tricks on the tests rarely present in homework. I understand most of the material, but I failed because I couldn't pass the tests.

I did not know about this system when I took his course, so this is retro. He is an AWESOME instructor. Makes learning interesting, fun & meaningful. I had a fear & dislike of math before this course. Now, I enjoy math and feel confident to do it. Kudos to you, Marty.

Getz is a difficult teacher. I've gone to him with questions and he graded me harder on the subjects I needed his help on, saying I got help and should have done better. I have a 3.7 MATH GPA and could barly pass this class very difficult if the material is new to you.

The best math professor I have ever had. His teaching style is great and if you ever need help his door is always open. He uses graphs often, which makes it easy to see what he is discussing. Marty keeps you interested in the topics he is teaching.

Excellent teacher! Very fun! Made math entertaining. Made everything completely clear and easy to understand. His tests are HORRIBLY hard. They will make you cry. Take this class only if you think you know math.

If you want to learn Calculus, take Getz! This is a hard class to pass, but you will learn Calculus if you pass. He will have you laughing in class and learning Calc at the same time. The colored chalk is the best, and I have never seen anyone draw graphs of funtions the way he can! The best math teacher I have ever had!
