I took Mel as a grad student and that could be the reason my opinion is the way it is...as a GRAD student...HIGHLY recommend him! He's awesome, very energetic and into his field of study, helpful, gets the class involved, etc. Now if I was an undergrad and wanted an easy A...NOT the class or prof to take! He challenges you, lots of quizes, etc. If you want to learn...Mel's a MUST!

OMG! I was so scared of this class initially, but I ended up loving it. Dr. B is a great guy, very dark sense of humor, and finds sex in everything. Only bad part: don't bother e-mailing him-he won't respond. Want to impress your parents? Recite the first 18 lines of The Canterbury Tales.

He's a nice guy, but lots of reading, and slightly boring lectures. He's funny, and weekly quizzes make you read and pay attention. In class writing midterm, same for final, recitation of first 18 lines of Gen'l Prologue in Canterbury Tales that can raise your midterm grade, and no papers.

This guy is awesome! Everyone says that Brit Lit is so hard but this guy makes it fun and interesting. weekly quizzes are worth 50% of ur grade, midterm 10%, recitation (easy just get record the tape from the library), and final 40% (I think). But he was my fav teach this semester.
