By far the worst professor I have ever seen. His slides are not related to the course material. The labs are not related to the midterm. He told us that the point of this course wan't to be able to code in C, except his midterm was only questions about C.

His labs are totally unrelated to the tests, even the TAs are struggling to answer any of our questions as they can't help with even the first step. Only his section requires you to use a raspberry pi which is annoying because we are doing a lot more unnecessary work that is worth 1%/week and won't even be relevant to our tests.

The prof is not bad, but okay. The assignments and the tests are reasonable and not difficult. Just read the textbook. Follow and practice every lab instructions. Actually, the course is one of the easiest courses, so don't worry too much.

Worst prof ever. He thinks he is on top of the world giving 0 feedback for the tests and labs. If you can go with other prof go for it, since this guy is awful.

Most boring persona I have ever find in a course. Litterly this professor thinks he is on top of the world and he can rule everybody. If you try to ask for your missed marks even though you did the labs he won't give it to you and the communication between you and him rated from 0-10 is -1.

This prof is horrible, we have no option as he is the only prof for this course, way too strict & his lectures are not clear. Don't want to take any course with him again.

well good luck if you are facing a trouble course you have to study yourself , he won't help you if you ask questions after class , so ask the ta if you can , by the way he don't tells you where is his office address so you have to google it by yourself , good luck for all freshmen

He's an ok prof, kinda boring. Course material was easy enough. Don't expect any help from him if you try to communicate with him via e-mail where he is incredibly curt and unreasonable.

Students don't expect comp sci to be as hard when they first sign up for it. Yes, Jenkin is boring, but he teaches alright. You have to put in the effort if u wanna do well. Even if u got an A+ in high school please don't be overconfident, or else u WILL FAIL with Jenkin. Study after EVERY lecture and don't be embarassed to ask questions!!Good luck

If you love having a lot thrown at you, and getting completely confused by words you have never heard then this is the class for you. Seriously, if you haven't done programming before the LORD HAVE MERCY ON YOU. This guy teaches you like you have years of programming experience which majority of the students in an INTRODUCTORY class don't. WORST!!

He does a pretty bad job at explaining things in lectures. The myth is you can only do well if you've done coding in the past. But that's simply not true, if you go through the textbook and practice you'll realize it's pretty easy. I got an A without ever having done computers before, just from good readings of the text.

You'll appreaciate how good Michael is when you get have other professors in Computer Science. He throws a lot at you. He builds up a good foundation for self study and makes sure discussions in class are not beyond the covered material; so no one is left out. One of the best profs I've had thus far.

Stay clear of this guy if you can. He has no interest in helping people. Try to learn as much as you can ahead of time so that the little that he does say will make sense. Class is redundant as he basically reads his slides which say little. The book and any peers will be your best best for his 1st and 2nd year courses. AVOID!!

Tests are extremely hard for anyone with little or no programming experience. Don't be fooled by the easyness of the practise test. Labtests will contain challenging thinking questions. in CSE 1020, make sure you know how/when to create nested FOR loops QUICKLY or the time limit WILL kill you. Super nice guy though!
