Do all the work and assignments on time. One project can drop you a letter grade. So if you want to self learn and are confident, don't have questions and don't care that grades are posted months later...take his class. Don't expect return on emails in a timely fashion, this is a SELF TAUGHT CLASS, he wont help you.

Very detached from students, took a long time to post grades, worked almost entirely from the textbook's CD. There was no real teaching here- just assignments we taught ourselves through the book/online resources. Overall though, he didn't give us too many assignments and those he did give us weren't impossible.

He posted assignments about every 2-3 weeks and emailed us when grades were about to go up. He responds to email and discussion posts generally within a day or two especially the day an assignment is due he'll be on. Quizzes and assignments were relatively easy as long as you didn't put it off till the last minute. Good class in my experience.

Should lose his job. Web based class structured 100% from the free cd that comes with book. Mr. Kappers did not respond to a single email or forum posting the entire semester. HAD ZERO involvement with students. Did not exist in any manner.

everything below my comment is true. some quiz answers r hard to find.. use AIhelp and google. busy busy guy, never responds to stuff.. assignments are str8 forward. put lots of effort into projects. .. this class really is an easy A/B+ .. but use it more to build a portfolio. don't just do stuff and hand it in cuz u know u'll get good grade.

This class took like an hour out of every week.. and I was done. Easy B+ to an A. Just use Illustrator's Help file for the quizzes and put some effort into the projects and you'll be fine. Don't expect a reply to anything you email him, he's a busy guy and won't get back to you, lol.

cool guy, easy grader. answers to the quizzes are sometimes hard to find but nothing that can't be found on google. assignemts are easy. he seems to have a hard time grading things (always behind like 4 assignments) but every time i sent him an email he responded within 48 hours.
