He's one of the most down to earth and relatable teachers at this school and we just have to show our support to get him more money! Then he'll stay and teach ATC... he has given me hope that I can still be a kook and still be into ATC... actually I think that's mandatory now.

This is pointless, since he has already retired. Only had one class w/ him but it was definately worthwhile. Upcoming aviation students will definately miss out on one of the best aviation profs in at least the past 6+ years. He will be missed by those who took his class.

Great Prof! SCSU is losing a great teacher after this semester (spring-'06). For those who have not had Doc. Mattson-you missed out on a great opportunity. He was one of the most pro-student profs I know. He is always trying to improve the aviation for its students.

I thought he was mean at first but damn was I wrong. mattson is the best teacher i had last semester and he is very smart and funny. You will learn alot from his class and his lectures are not boring and you get alot of chances for extra credit. his class is the best and im taking his 419 class again before he lives.. you should too.

Funny and a good sense of humor. In the class you will gain a better perspective on the rolls and functions of ATC which is handy if your going to be a pilot! A very enjoyable class the is not worth skipping!!!

Pat is by far one of the best professors I have ever had. He, unlike Aceves, knows the material that he is teaching and makes it clear. He makes sure everybody is prepared for the tests and there is never any suprizes on them. Take Dr. Mattson if you can.
